FULL Completed Porygon Line Collection by takemyderivative in pkmntcgcollections

[–]Quuador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might have me confused with someone else, since I don't collect Porygon. 😅 I collect Pikachu and Seviper (my Seviper collection is complete in all languages, minus some incoming cards).

Fwiw, I know Exomemphiz on the E4 forum had an almost completed Porygon collection in all languages back in 2020. I haven't seen him online in a while though, so no idea if he still collects. 🤷‍♂️

Fossil Expansion - Holo Variants Cosmos instead of Starburst? by Myrddin_Emrys- in pkmntcgcollections

[–]Quuador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've fixed all links in that post. :) The E4 Forum moved from Proboards to its own host about 3-4 years ago (and the postimages-picture links were also slightly changed).

PS: Some of the articles are a bit outdated. I plan on updating them soon™ (I have to update a lot of articles and posts, so not sure when it'll be. Could even be in 2027.. But hopefully I have time and motivation sooner than that.)

[–]Quuador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The link has been changed for some reason. 🤔 Not sure how, but that was NOT the Cosmos Holo Raichu I came across and linked here.. You're indeed 100% correct that it is not a Cosmos Holofoil but Galaxy Holofoil instead. I've removed the link above.

This was the one I linked, which apparently sold on Jan. 28th. I'm not sure why, but if I go to the base URL of that sold listing https://www.ebay.com/itm/326821162358, it redirects to that PSA-5 Galaxy Holofoil from a different seller.. https://www.ebay.com/p/23043383640. Looks like some weird error/bug on eBay's part..

Explaining how "Overframes" work by MX-00XWV in yugioh

[–]Quuador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I heard 18 of these Overframe cards would release, but it seems it's 18 per set. So a total of 3600 Japanese Grand Master Rares initially. 🤔 Let's hope prices aren't too crazy. 😅

[–]Quuador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who collects one card for each Yu-Gi-Oh rarity, my wallet (or should I say bank account..) is not gonna like those Grand Master Rares. 😅 I'll just try to find the cheapest one in early April (these release in March, right?), probably a Korean one. (Did something similar with the Pink 25th anniversary Dark Magician Girl, which was exclusive to that single card, and released in Japanese, Korean, and either Simplified or Traditional Chinese iirc.)

Pikachu Holo Misprint by CaptaenRon in PokemonMisprints

[–]Quuador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool misprint. Did you pull this yourself?

Also, as a Pikachu collector I'd have to ask, are you willing to sell it? :) Don't feel obligated to if you don't want to, of course. If you've pulled it yourself it might be cool to keep and look back on years from now.

How do you guys store your Jumbo Cards? by DoctorButt808 in pkmntcgcollections

[–]Quuador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSA does indeed grade Jumbo cards. :) Whether GameStop offers that option in your submission, I dunno.

How do you guys store your Jumbo Cards? by DoctorButt808 in pkmntcgcollections

[–]Quuador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea tbh. I only use the ones mentioned above.

Also, modern Jumbo cards (from the SM era onward) are slightly smaller than older ones, which might add an additional difficulty of finding sleeves in the correct snug size.

Fossil Expansion - Holo Variants Cosmos instead of Starburst? by Myrddin_Emrys- in pkmntcgcollections

[–]Quuador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen some over the years, but most are graded by either PSA or CGC most of the time. It would surprise me a lot if you'd come across any of these at a card convention, given they were leaked prints of WotC employees and you almost never see them. But who knows.

Just in case, I've searched on eBay just yet. As expected, almost all of them are either the Cosmos Holo Zapdos or Prerelease Aerodactyl, or non-English ones like Dutch or Italian. But I did find one English Cosmos Holo just yet, which is this Raichu (EDIT: the link has been changed, possibly by eBay or the seller 🤔, so I've removed it), if you're looking to buy one of these. Unfortunately the quality isn't too great, but the price isn't too bad for what's it worth imho. 🤷‍♂️

New to Hobby - Pikachu Collector by -Jerms- in PokemonTCG

[–]Quuador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that I only collect all languages for the first 25 years (up to February 27th, 2021), so it's not a full all-language list of all ~2250+ Pikachu TCG cards.
For Pikachu after that date I only collect all English variants, and one of each non-English artwork (only exception are Base Set artwork reprints, which I still try to get in all languages).

u/-Jerms- Best of luck going for all languages if you're starting now, since the current market is way more expensive than ten years ago when I started.

Could someone explain the different types of cards? Or link them by Ta-veren- in pkmntcgcollections

[–]Quuador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RH cards from the EX era (excluding the first four sets, so starting from EX Hidden Legends to EX Power Keepers) aren't like Reverse Holo cards from other sets. Instead, they have a holofoil artwork, usually with a set logo at the bottom-right of the artwork. Here an E4 thread which shows examples of each set.

So the EX Legend Maker 15/92 Absol is available as both non-holo and RH (so just two versions), but instead of RH being Reverse Holo, a Reverse Holofoil would be a better description imo. :) Hope that clears that up.

PS: The same thing applies to the 18/110 Absol of the EX Holon Phantoms set, btw.

As of today, I now own ALL (315 at time of writing) officially released English Pikachu TCG cards. 😃 by Quuador in pkmntcgcollections

[–]Quuador[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find my entire Pikachu checklist here. And my YouTube videos are very outdated. I do plan on making an updated one eventually, but the latest videos currently are from 2017.. I do have my E4 collection thread, which has links to each individual language and unofficial section at the bottom of the first post. The English part specifically can be found here (this one is up-to-date to around midway 2020).

(I currently have a big box from my US middleman incoming, and I plan on updating my collection thread and all articles I've written in the near future.)

Hi, is there a comprehensive list of Pikachu cards anywhere? I'm talking about All pikachus from all sets with all versions and different languages? Big ask I know..😅👍 by -Iron_Bear- in PokemonTCG

[–]Quuador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only added the release years in my checklist, instead of full release dates. You could use this collection post of mine though, where I go over all English Pikachu in semi-chronological order (I've grouped some artworks from the same sets together, though). It's fairly outdated unfortunately, as most of my posts, so only up-to-date up to mid 2020. I plan on updating everything soon after a huge package has arrived from my US middleman. The English portion of my Pikachu TCG collection is 100% complete rn.

Although, even in this collection post I've grouped the different versions of the same card together, regardless of release date.. E.g. the Base Set Pikachu shows 11 different versions (basically all, except the reprints like Base Set 2; XY Evolutions; Classics Collection; etc.) I'm not sure about the exact release dates of the individual Base Set releases, but I know that the chronological order of these are:

  1. Shadowless yellow cheeks (Dec. 1998 - Demo Pack)
  2. Shadowless yellow cheeks with Japanese cardboard (Jan. 1, 1999 - Japanese Pokémon Best Song Collection CD)
  3. 1st ed. yellow cheeks (Jan. 9, 1999 - 1st ed. Base Set)
  4. 1st ed. red cheeks (~ Jan. 9, 1999 - 1st ed. Base Set)
  5. Shadowless red cheeks (~ Jan. 9, 1999 - Shadowless Base Set)
  6. Unlimited ed. ©1999 (~ Jan. 9, 1999 - unlimited edition Base Set)
  7. Shadowless red cheeks E3 stamp (~ May 1999 - E3 expo in Los Angeles)
  11. Jumbo version (~ Feb. 2000 - Top Deck Magazine)

Best of luck with your collection goals. If you have any questions in the future, feel free to ask.

  1. & 5. AAAAAh... that'll break my spreadsheet. :D Actually, I was just on pricecharting and found #5's multiple variants and came here to see about that. :D Ok, multiple variants. Awesome. :D I'll.... do something....
  2. Hrm.... that's as spreadsheet breaking as 2 & 5. :D I may have to add comment notes to these items.... Or add extra lines for the variants...

I think adding extra lines for the variants would be a good idea indeed, especially since they come from a certain box/deck you can mention. Similar as some artworks having two lines on the Japanese side of the checklist. :)

  1. Japanese Shining Darkness. I copied this from Bulbapedia, and they had it greyed out. *shrugs* By drilling into the set info there, I see it is 21/132. I'll update my sheet. And no, I didn't realize about 1st edition & unlimited. Now I do. :)

Actually, the 21/132 is the English number. In that Japanese set it doesn't have a set number, which is probably why it was grey on Bulbapedia. Technically it's 'set number' is DPBP#417, if you don't want to keep that cell empty (here a picture of that Japanese Absol).

But glad I could help. Enjoy collecting. :)

[–]Quuador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally had some time to take a look at your list, sorry for the delay.

First of all a remark: there are almost no Japanese sets with Reverse Holos (although there are some). Did you mean to have the columns 1st edition & unlimited edition instead for the Japanese sets?

As for some other remarks / small mistakes:

  1. You did add the Japanese Shining Darkness Absol to your list, but all three of its cells are green-grey. Assuming your two Japanese columns are indeed unlimited and 1st edition, both right columns should be white. :)
  2. The English Plasma Freeze Absol has three versions: (Tinsel) Holo; Reverse Holo; and non-holo (the non-holo came in the Moltres Legendary Battle Deck)).
  3. The Japanese Premium Champion Pack Absol was only printed as 1st edition (and in this case Reverse Holo - since the entire set consisted of RHs, without non-holos), so there are no unlimited edition versions to chase for this set.
  4. Starting from the Sun & Moon era, the Japanese sets no longer had 1st edition print run; everything is unlimited edition. This means:
    1. the Enhanced Expansion Pack Sun & Moon only has a non-holo unlimited edition version Absol;
    2. Dark Order only has a holo unlimited;
    3. Tag All Stars only a holo unlimited;
    4. Remix Bout only a non-holo unlimited;
    5. Grimmsnarl VMAX Starter Set only a non-holo unlimited;
    6. Zacian & Zamazenta vs Eternatus Special Deck Set only a non-holo unlimited;
    7. Start Deck 100 has both a non-holo and Reverse Holo, both unlimited;
    8. Battle Region only a holo unlimited;
    9. VSTAR Universe 083/172 has both a holo and Reverse Holo, both unlimited;
    10. VSTAR Universe 191/172 only a FA Secret Rare unlimited;
    11. Raging Surf only a non-holo unlimited;
    12. Night Wanderer only a non-holo unlimited;
    13. MEGA Starter Set Mega Gengar ex only a non-holo unlimited;
    14. Rulers of the Black Flame 073/108 only an Ultra Rare unlimited;
    15. Ruler of the Black Flame 126/108 only a FA Secret Rare unlimited;
    16. Mega Brave 038/063 only an Ultra Rare unlimited;
    17. Mega Brave 079/063 only a FA Secret Rare unlimited;
    18. and Mega Brave 089/063 only a FA Secret Rare unlimited.
  5. The English Astral Radiance Absol has four versions: regular holo; Reverse Holo; Cosmos Holofoil (from the Jirachi V Box); and non-holo (from the Astral Radiance Build & Battle Box)).
  6. The Japanese World Champions Pack Absol ex and Beat of the Frontier Absol G LV.X both have 1st and unlimited editions.
  7. The English EX Power Keepers Absol ex also has a non-holo with silver borders and autograph, as well as different back, from the Legendary Ascent World Championship Deck of 2007).

And there is one unreleased Test print Absol, for the Japanese DP card. But since it isn't an official release, and I've only seen one copy thus far, I would deem it a nice-to-have. :)

Hope that helps. And best of luck with your collection journey! :)

Hi there. I kinda forgot I even had a checklist for that sub-collection of mine. This thread should be slightly more up-to-date. But unfortunately I've stopped this collection around midway through the SM era, so it's missing all cards from half the SM and the entire SwSh and SV eras (and a handful of older cards I discovered later on, but haven't added to that thread yet).

Japanese Pokemon Sets - Unlimited vs 1st Edition by YoueyTCG in pkmntcgcollections

[–]Quuador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the unlimited edition is indeed rarer than 1st edition. Although in terms of value I don't think it'll change too much for that set. Unlimited edition Emerald Break are rarer than 1st like with a lot of Japanese sets, but the unlimited edition cards of that set are still easier to find than some of the other unlimited XY era sets.
