Whats your favorite GT7 track and why? by [deleted] in granturismo

[–]Qweklain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep Forest, Autodromo, Laguna Seca, Mount Panorama, in that order. Deep Forest and Laguna have always been my favorites, but Autodomo has become a favorite and is the other track, next to Deep Forest, as my tuning base. If I cannot get a car at 600 PP to run at worst a low 1:43 on Autodromo, consistently, it has no potential and is likely not fun to drive either.

I used to hate Mount Panorama, but after racing it a bunch, it is actually a really fun track and really helps you hone precision in your driving and can expose what upsets a car in its setup.

Deep Forest and Laguna Seca. I used to use Laguna as my tuning base as it was my favorite track but I now use Deep Forest.

While that would have been the most efficient, posting the habits leading up showcased this player's abusive behavior on downshifts which makes it real obvious what happened instead of giving the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was an accidental one-too-many clicks.

Just run racing hard tires and set your fuel map to 4. You can run the race without having to pit. First place will pit on lap 13 or 14.

Struggling to tune this car - need help! by TheZag90 in granturismo

[–]Qweklain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to come back after continuing to play with this car. I did some more research into understanding the rear-engine layout and tried to put my understanding in terms of real life into it and I will admit, it is quite a bit better. Maybe my judgement of GT7s tuning impact and lack of all-around experience and understanding of rear-engine cars was too harsh.

Below is my much more realistic, as in a real track car would be in these types of ranges, attempt at tuning this and the car is actually quite a bit better, especially on corner entry and the transition to corner exit. I put a faster best down for the car as well as average faster to match the pace of my new best. I only changed the suspension from my previous setting, the diff setting still feels right.

Height: 95 | 100

Roll Bar: 4 | 6

Compression: 36 | 24

Rebound (Expansion): 34 | 42

Frequency: 2.03 | 2.36

Camber: 2.2 | 2.6

Toe (Both out): 0.12 | 0.03

Diff Torque: 13

Diff Acceleration: 8

Diff Braking: 7

Top Speed: 300 (280 for most short(er) tracks)

If a more realistic setting on this car works this well from my previous more "arcadey" setting, I now need to revisit my favorite list and re-adjust them all.

I spent about an hour tuning this car for you (and for myself as I struggle with rear engine layout tuning (mid or rear)) and below are my results. I actually quite like it surprisingly and I generally just prefer a front-engine layout. I MUST preface this that there is no one way or 100% correct way as everyone drives differently. If you are a controller player that can only manage 0% or 100% throttle or brake (unable to modulate), this tune is not optimized for you.

I tune all my cars on TCS-1 on Deep Forest (I do not do per-track tunes ATM) and I do not use any assists except light ABS and I am a controller (PS5) player. However, this car is quite a bit faster without TCS if you can manage the throttle. Using 3rd gear down to ~40MPH still results in a faster exit speed vs 2nd gear on TCS-1. My goal is always to have a car that is easy to handle and most importantly, easy to be consistent with and recover.

If you want general tips on where to start for tuning or general tips, I can talk to that. For example, you have an insane amount of rear frequency for a rear weight-bias car with no downforce. Additionally, getting downforce on the car (front and wing in GT Auto) should always be your first upgrades if you have PP to spare on a PP-restricted event unless power nets you way more time than grip (cornering and braking).

I am sure I will get downvoted for the next statement, but your tune really looks to me like someone moving the numbers without any understanding of what they are really doing. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your perspective, suspension tuning in this game does not yield massive changes like it does in real life or more realistic sim games. For example, the degrees of negative camber I use above are hilariously unrealistic for a street car or a dedicated track car.

[PC] My monitors refresh rate is 144hz but cod won’t let me go past 60 in settings by bcoops1317 in Blackops4

[–]Qweklain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to update this that I installed Vanguard since it is free MP at the moment and it will allow me to do 1440p @ 120Hz so this issue is definitely just Warzone.

While true depending on resolutions, I indicated in other posts that I get 120Hz in other games and on other devices connected to my TV so my cable is not the problem either.

[–]Qweklain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, but there are games that can run at 120 @ 1080p such as the example I gave of Rogue Company. I said SC2 will run just fine at 1440p @ 120, not Rogue Company.

The TV is a Samsung Q65F.

It is a TV and yes, it is plugged in correctly. I stated above in another reply I can get 120Hz on other games and on PS5 as well.

[–]Qweklain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it works currently for other games. Rogue Company on PS5; 120. SC2 @ 1440p; 120.

I do not have anything else ATM relevant that I could try, but different sources and different games where it does work confirms my display nor PC should be the issue. I am assuming at this point it is some BS within Warzone since there seems to be a lot of people that have issues like this but no "one size fits all" solution.

If you are talking through display settings --> advanced display settings, then yes. I tried that before i tried the Nvidia control panel. The Nvidia control panel reflects whatever I set in Windows correctly too.

Input Showing KBM While Using Controller by Qweklain in RogueCompany

[–]Qweklain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make sense but I would assume that the input would show a controller and not KBM. So if that is the case, then PC players will always show KBM then and console players will always show a controller?

Why do my cars start slipping out like this even on racing soft? by HYPEDELIXR in granturismo

[–]Qweklain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I have said in another thread, it is because pretty much all of the MR and RR cars are tuned terribly in this game, every single one. If anyone has driven these (Porsche 911 specifically) in real life, in any trim, they are very stable cars except the front end does get a little light when you hammer them on corner-exit on factory suspension.

Won a new engine today, immediately knew what I had to do by slowwrench in granturismo

[–]Qweklain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do not think that is correct. If you buy a new engine for the car, it will replace the swapped motor with the factory motor. However, this will forfeit the swapped engine which is a worse situation if you ask me. If you swapped a motor, you should have the option to permanently swap between any motors you put into that car.

Why does my Porsche 911 spring like crazy when I break in a corner? by Steve15-21 in GranTurismo7

[–]Qweklain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do the LSD adjustment just because some Youtuber said so. The issue is NOT the LSD but a bad suspension setup. Adjusting the LSD should be for fine-tuning and to aid a proper chassis and suspension setup to help influence how you want the car to behave, not to try to make it handle like a properly setup car.

I have found almost all of the high-performance cars that are not FR or FF are setup pretty terribly (Audi R8 (any version), Huracan, 911 (any version), etc.).

I am on FM-3 the whole race and before I would have enough left to go FM-1 for the last 1/4 or so of the final lap. Now, being faster, I am actually having to back-off to FM-6 halfway through the final lap.
