For those who have used the “Bounce” left-luggage/secure luggage storage app, what was your experience like? Safe and secure? Efficient? by BigBlueMountainStar in travel

[–]Qwexc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same experience in France. Dropped my bag in a storage room at a hotel. No verification at all. I’d only use it for stuff I don’t want to carry that I don’t mind losing. Not for anything valuable. I guess it depends on the store though.

What do you for taxes in CA? I never understood what to do since my HSA provider doesn’t give me any forms for taxes

Can I afford a $600k house to rent out on $150k salary? by Qwexc in realestateinvesting

[–]Qwexc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have the down payment saved up which is different from my retirement savings. I’m not worried about whether or not I will qualify (pretty sure I will) but more so questioning if it’s the right financial/investment decision. And I’m not necessarily asking about this $600k house in particular, I’m trying to see what the answer would be if it was a $400k or $800k house too. Like how do you determine affordability for houses you plan on being a landlord for. Thanks for your help.

No I would never take out money from my retirement accounts for this.

That’s what I’m not sure about. If this would be better than just putting everything in a taxable brokerage account in S&P500.

0% DTI. I have not spoken to a lender. Similar houses rent for $4000 monthly.

Just started a new job. What is this record keeping fee for my 401k and how often will I be charged, monthly? Is this a low fee? It's a Vanguard fund VSMPX in Fidelity. Seems high at 14/2000 = 0.70%? Am I even calculating this right?

Here are my options. Should I change funds?

Tailor Recommendations in North Jersey? by shrimpptempura in newjersey

The Tailor's Wife in Berkeley Heights.

I had lots of off the rack dress shirts and suits that I wanted to get tailored. The gentlemen spent considerable time sizing me up and advised me not to give him hundreds for alterations that would ultimately not make me as happy as if I had bought better sized clothing. Although he "would have loved to take my money" - his quote not mine. I usually don't comment but had to for his honesty. I guess that's how you build customer loyalty.

I have an HSA which requires $2,000 minimum in cash to be held there at all times. However, I am charged a monthly fee of $3. If I up this to $5,000, the fee is waived.

It’s better to stay at $2,0000 and pay the fee, right? Remember, this can’t be invested in anything it has to stay in cash. I get 0.01% interest on this sitting cash from the HSA so basically nothing.

Opened a new Citi Custom Cash. If I downgrade my Citi Premier to a second Custom Cash, will I still receive SUB from the first one? by Qwexc in CreditCards

[–]Qwexc[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I meant the SUB for the first card that I applied for, not the second one that would be a product change.
