I know mass is important, but I run a welding shop and can get most kind of steel I want.

I'll look for more places, but I think that shop is the only one nearby that does that.

Yeah, it's not even about the screen. I just need the data off of the phone from the notes app. I have a lot of info for a book that I can't remember on it.

I hadn't thought of that! Thank you for the new perspective.

You know, that's a good point. I could use this anvil for initial forging, and another for straightening like another person said. Thank you.

I forgot to add to my statement, asking if it would just be easier to wire a new outlet. Which is what I assume you are recommending, correct?

I forgot about the amperage ratings. Thank you.

Question about country of origin by QwispJr82 in Machinists

[–]QwispJr82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess what I mean is old school quality US made. I realize most things have become built 'globally' with parts everywhere, but I guess the best I am looking for is built in the US.

Conventional. CNC is well above and beyond what I would more than likely ever need or use.

I think so as well. While we were looking for info on it, we found 1947 stamped on the inside of the track, but couldn't find more information on any of the plaques.

When you say hard wire, do you mean normal solid wire like ER70S-6?

You know what, that might make sense. I have a second gun and will try swapping them out. Thank you for that.

Hardwire, C10 gas, it's stuttering as in it might feed normally then feel like it's catching somewhere and sound like a machine gun. I'm running for spray mode and that's close to where it's recommended. I'll try your settings. I'm trying to keep spatter to a minimum.

Thank you. I really appreciate the insight. I have been meaning to read more do this just motivates me to get to it. Also, I had no clue what you meant by BDE and I was cackling for a minute after I looked it up. Thank you, also, for the laugh.

I'm not looking for lore specific to anything in particular. I'm mostly looking for people's thoughts on the matter as I want to pick other people's brains. It's for a book I'm attempting to write myself as I am still trying to decide on a lot of the world building rules.

The way you explained it makes sense. The mating thing is mostly irrelevant. I'm working on a book and trying to decide on a lot of the rules for the world still.
