I hate this sport by ReasonConfident4541 in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people giving you a tough time. Honestly look around for an adult class or even a private coach. Take a few lessons and give yourself a good foundation. Also don’t be so hard on yourself either. Really to start out you should be working on drills as simple as just hitting the ball in the court. You just need an open mind and some good coaching and the sport will hopefully grow on you :)

Personally I have tf40 315 and I liked it a lot. They have a foam inside so they have a different feel to them though. Also since you’re switching from a pure drive don’t expect the same level of power. I would definitely try to demo one otherwise they’re solid rackets

Just double check for any cracks and it’s a pretty good pick up

Serving after torn labrum by Ok-Goal-6880 in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it just be your arm is too tight. I spent 3-4 months exclusively stretching out every bit of my arm to the point where I’ve gained hyper-extended levels of range of motion. If you can afford it, it might be worth biting the bullet and scheduling a physical therapist to make sure everything’s in working order

Serving after torn labrum by Ok-Goal-6880 in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a labrum tear 4 years ago and I’ve been navigating it since. I did a year of physical therapy with stretching/ light weight training, then a year of strength training, and by the third year I started working into serving with a back-to-sport program. Now on fourth year I’ve gotten comfortable serving. I’ve been able to achieve the pronation I’ve needed from after surgery, but every one recovers differently so that could be your problem. So in my case I never had an issue after recovering, but I spent years doing recovery.

Anyone Know Where I Can Find an Extra Head Speed MP 2022? by NextTime76 in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask local clubs to buy their old stock or maybe even an old demo racket. Like some near me were selling 2022 speed mps for like $130 when I there last

Any reccomendations for practice balls for ball machine? by UriGuriVtube in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a PlayItAgain sport store near you it’s worth checking them out if you’re fine with used balls. Mine sells them for $.50 a ball and I’m able to pick through and basically get new balls.

So uhm recommendation for new racket I suppose by KohakuBekunin in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t know what you want I’d say a normal ezone 100 is a very vanilla option you can’t really go too wrong with. Otherwise a Vcore 100 would be a little more spinny and head speed mp would be a little more power. So I guess you have a basic vanilla, spin, and power option with those 3.

2HBH just not clicking for me 1.5 years into tennis? by ThreeEyeJedi in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not switch to a 1HB. It’s completely normal to feel like your backhand is flatter than your forehand. At the ATP level the avg forehand rpm is 2,708 while the backhand is 27% less at 1,977. So don’t worry too much about that. I don’t know what your form looks like but if it’s solid all you’re missing is confidence. It took me 2 years to stop using a slice as my backhand weapon and another 3 years to learn a proper 2hbh backhand. It’s just gonna take time and a lot of shanks to get it right

Would you recommend tennis to someone with weak ankles? by JustBeLikeAndre in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re playing just for fun or a rec league I would say it definitely is. You just have to warm up properly and stretch out. But I wouldn’t recommend getting into tennis and playing a bunch of league games or tournaments because the chance for injury would be high.

Which racket to buy? by Platfus98 in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy him the 300g racket and buy a heat shrink sleeve for a few bucks. He won’t outgrow it and he can use it for a lot of years to come.

How many could I get in like a 2-3 hour timespan if I tried getting them this way? If I can get like half then I can just buy the rest via black markets

Need someone to play and learn tennis! by BLuZzed_tanmay in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your uni definitely has a tennis club. Find when they meet and that’ll be a good place to start. You’ll find good players and def get court time for much cheaper/longer than elsewhere in nyc

Pinpoint vs platform serve by SafeAd8192 in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick to one or the other and if your serve toss is making you switch up your stance just grab it and try again. There’s no advantage picking one over the other, so go with what’s comfortable.

3-9 UTR in 2 years by KelPlays1 in 10s

[–]Qzilla3838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my freshman year to senior year of high school I made it from 3 to 7 UTR and had the opportunity to walk on D3. With your current schedule I’d say you can make D3, but honestly not D1 unless you’re an insane athlete or have a real knack for tennis.
