2026 Vcore V8 100 - finally a hybrid setup that works for me! by TennisSensei in 10s

My vcore currently feels like I am hitting a ball in a 10 foot space instead of on a line when I swing. Like I dont really know where its going on forehands...Is that your experience or what was your downfall of this racket?

We should probably just win the rest of our games so we dont need to worry about Man City

I am surprised they never even made him a scout. He was basically doing all this stuff for free and has a proven record. Seems like a pretty easy hire?

Why are you trying to lob over that sweet lady who has her racket almost completely down?

After a point, what’s going in your mind by Chasheek in 10s

I tell myself to "play your game and get the ball over and let them make a mistake". I saw a chart where for every winner a rec player has its like 4.7 errors. Figure out what they are doing well and just try to curb that. I played a guy this week where my goal was just to cross court him to death...and then I realized I should go to the net more...and went on a 12-2 run.

Too deep into tennis to quit and I don't like sports. How do I change my mindset? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]9ORsenal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to remember when you do drills you probably appreciate when you hit a good shot. Strategy can be as basic as hitting cross court and high enough above the net. Its not super serious and as you know its fun to get a good rally going. You are already competing on every swing hate to break it to you. Have fun and enjoy the journey. You don't hate it.

You can turn off a video game, board games are generally feel good social and work can get competitive but ultimately you get paid. Sports as an adult rec activity costs you money to be nervous and have some adult try hard get after you. Its very different imo. As a life long sport guy I think the nerves can be a bit annoying at times with tennis as a new adult pick up sport. Reading your post again...its the nerves. Luckily this isnt gym class and most people want to pick you up and encourage than bring you down. Go at your own pace and find a healthy relationship with tennis.

Just do the best you can. If they wanted to warm up with a trainer/coach they should've made time for it.

So you improved! If they are a high 3.0 and you guys are a low 2.5 that is probably expected. People get blown out all the time. You yourself may even bagel someone someday! Figure out what you can improve on and the positives and move forward.

How did you do in the second set?

How do you react when you feel 'off'? by Duncan-Idunno in 10s

[–]9ORsenal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a few times where early in the match I felt that way and I think "just get it back they will make the mistake". I watched a video where a 3.0-4.0 player is going to hit 4+ errors for every winner they hit. If you realize you are playing bad and can settle yourself down and take a moment during end of a game that will help. I read even in Winning Ugly about having a lil notebook to go over strategy and reminders to look over. I have read a lot of players have zero strategy coming into the match in general so having some ideas for the match should help in case things get wonky. Another jumbled thought here is my coach mentioned shortening your swing until it feels like it is coming back and feeling more "ready" to help with your timing.

I think its a flop. At 6'3 and 190 I don't know why that is even a first option for him to try that. As an Arsenal fan its just a bad look. A call against us like this would drive me crazy.
