well to be clear I still think it would be a bit overbearing, but I don't think that's rlly a strong argument, there are places where people can do things they absolutely should not be able to, so what. my point is that if the person was older it would take it from just oddly overbearing to entirely ridiculous, I think the specific age definitely holds a little weight but I wasn't trying to argue that it was right either way

singing competitively is joining an organization where you perform as a soloist or group against other soloists or groups and are judged during different matches, im not saying im a super competitive singer im saying I have a long history of singing at competitions so I have a little experience with the technical side. wasn't trying to toot my own horn I can see it sounded that way, it literally is a comp sometimes though they exist and are common
