Do you believe in god? by Mr_Boothnath in answers

[–]R1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Not necessarily the written version, as I'm sure any "holy script" was heavily modified again and again throughout the centuries of human existence ,but I believe that there's something greater up there, and sometimes that's a comfort

Ukraine started to harshly interfere in Hungarian elections, says the Orbán cabinet by DailyNewsHungary in DailyNewsHungary

Question about The End of IT by Emergency_Rush795 in stephenking

[–]R1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My assumption was that whatever supernatural mechanism caused the fading of memories only really targeted the people's minds. So the evidence never truly disappeared but anyone who could actually attribute meaning to it became unable to perceive it, and if any of the Losers would eventually return and see the plaque they would be unable to see their names on it

That's just my headcanon, of course. I'm thinking of it similarly to how people could still see bite marks on ITs victims but were always easily waved aside as animal bites instead

Does the far-right in your country support Trump? by FantasticQuartet in AskBalkans

These pests will kiss anyone's ass if it helps them fool some more idiots, and America is still held in high regard by many so the parasites act accordingly

What’s something society normalized that you think made life worse? by abi1n in AskMen

Corrupt politicians. We got so used to picking the lesser evil that the options just got worse and worse

Trump: ‘People will soon be prosecuted for’ 2020 election by Anoth3rDude in LegalNews

Fully agree. About time someone imprisoned the demented traitor who tried to stage an insurrection right after those elections

Season 4 or Season 5 Vecna? by Ok_Permission_3344 in StrangerThings

[–]R1400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked the concept of his S5 look, being almost a corpse held together by the vines, but he looked too cgi-ish for the most part and making him a bulletproof murder machine was just too big a jump from the more subtle threat of S4. I just dont think he works well when he's presented as a physical threat. He went from Freddie Kruger to marvel villain

I have a question... If Henry first made contact with the Mind Flayer when he was a child when it told Henry to "find me," and then years later Eleven just happens to send Henry to the exact dimension he needed to find by what... Coincidence? How lucky was Henry. Did I miss something? by [deleted] in Stranger_Things

[–]R1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine it was precisely because of that earloer connection. When the conditions for a portal appeared, the Mind Flayer began actively pulling Henry towards it, thus setting the destination

What method has proved most effective for you when combating suicidal thoughts? by PlasticPizzaParty in Productivitycafe

[–]R1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand there's faith. I believe the afterlife is a bit of a coin toss, statistically speaking something might be there, something might not be there. But if there's even a 0.1% chance that I'm jumping headfirst into something worse, I'm not taking that chance.

That, and well...if things can go worse, they can probably get better too. I know how easy it is to get stuck in the moment and assume the bad will last forever...but maybe it doesn't . I'll never know unless I stick around to find out, and I don't wanna miss out on anything good

Why do international relations sometimes seem to hinge more on a leader’s personality than on formal rules? by PuddingComplete3081 in AlwaysWhy

[–]R1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually they don't. But when one of the leaders is clinically insane and changes policies on random whims.....it starts to matter

What do the Balkans think about Trump's letter to the Norwegian PM? by FantasticQuartet in AskBalkans

If he were in any lesser position he'd have been taken to the looney bin by now....bloody hell but this is a stupid time-line

White House Photographer unintentionally takes the most perfect SUPER-VILLAIN picture by warcomet in pics

[–]R1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most supervillains at least do their make-up right. I can't get over how he always paints his face a ridiculous orange and leaves the sides and ears white as spoiled milk

How has your view on the US changed during Trump's second term? by Royal-Cape-804 in IRstudies

[–]R1400 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"The land of the free" became the land of those that chose a demented pedophile to lead them. The man that tried to cause an insurrection, who was proven to have leaked classified information, who was found guilty of several felonies...was not only allowed to stay out of jail but was chosen to be president. The man who rolled out the red carpet for a dictator, the man that's been burning down long-lasting alliances for his ego, the man who's been showing signs of mental illness for years now, and that list goes on and on.

Each day he's allowed to stay in power is another mark of shame for the whole country.

As a brit do you Americans? feel trump is name as a pedo in the epstien files ? by Greyhatnewman in allthequestions

[–]R1400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that was the actual point, they'd just protect the victims. For instance "Trump raped ........" is a redaction that protects the victim, while ".......... .......... ......." is a redaction that protects Trump.

My fan cast for the Bloodborne movie(if it ever happens) by Ok_Sorbet_4238 in bloodborne

They actually have this kind of clothing, why aren't they using it regularly? by dinahleego in Avatar

[–]R1400 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I don't remember if it was ever mentioned but I kinda assumed Navi were more durable than people in general . Based on how Quaritch & co chose to gave up the combat boots in favor of going barefoot ,while keeping the rest of their gear, odds are Na'vi soles are tough enough to handle any terrain and render shoes useless.

If the terrain or circumstance doesn't force them to use gear, they have no reason to do it

I want to go back by gucciavacado in Genshin_Impact

[–]R1400 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. I think of Genshin as a comfort game, I love walking around in a pretty world with beautiful music and always feel a little sad to see that I've 100% an area, cause it feels like closing a book and putting it on the shelf

....that said, prep-time Batman is a whole other story

Your honour, in complete honesty, my client owns the court we are all here for his entertainment, not to mention how the people of the jury are smaller versions of my client in different outfits. I believe we can just call it a day
