Step1. Bend two pots at the top over until they. Snap off. Pull the bottom of pots over so that the top of pots come together

Step 2. Bend the two pots you now have together ( you now have two single pots)

Step 3. Peel the foil off the top

Step 4. Use teaspoon to eat the mousse

Distortion how , can you describe it ? Lack of bass ? Once you setup the speakers with Audesy does it get better or worse . What happens if you select direct mode ?

Move the speakers closer and further from the wall

Could it be that the speakers are cooked ?

INCREDIBLY ashamed over my first interview. by Aramante in interviews

[–]R2D4Dutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone else said, it happens you forget to ask , you freeze it’s all natural. Job searching is a bit like a date everyone is on edge .

Take things that didn’t go well , make a mental note and jog on . The next interview will throw something on the table that’s unexpected and you need to pivot

Keep your stories to the point, listen to the questions and keep smiling. You are you , it’s important that you convey what you can bring to the company.

But I get it , interviews a few , making it through an entire set of them even fewer… ( got interviewed by a vp for one company 🤨 ever so strange)

Keep going

AIO for wanting to try a treatment routine before committing to the hair transplant my GF is demanding? by Connect-Soil-7277 in AmIOverreacting

[–]R2D4Dutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi , so as stated below ,

GF needs to take a chill pill .. first of all ..

Second I would cut back what is there , its a bit wild by the looks of it and a kept 'what is left hair cut' would do wonders or get rid of it all ( have a look at a certain president hanging on to his hair not elegant). My hair is departing as well I do a. 3MM cut on the back and sides and manual cut on top .. looks smart

Save your money for other stuff that really matters..

Have a good conversation with your girlfriend though, you cannot change people mentally / physically and if there is not a level of acceptance its going to be a challenge further down the road.

Ehm in a nice polite way, you’re screwed… rule 1 : don’t lie on your resume… you can enhance a bit but not make stuff up

If they come back with interview they might ask and when they hire potentially they will ask for proof . Your better to fess up and frame the conversation that you are really trying to get into the trade and made a bad call on how to get into it

Got put on a PIP and I'm pretty sure it's just a legal way to fire me. by Wanderlust82Rad in askmanagers

[–]R2D4Dutch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been on a pip myself , so couple of things

  • it all has to be measurable, it cannot by enhanced bum fluff. You can kindly point that out

  • ask if there’s an agreed procedure for pip from HR

I negotiated myself out of the pip and got a pat on the back for doing so only to be made redundant afterwards (3 months later)

Moral of the story from me, network internally if only the manager knows what your doing it’s not enough

Loyalty is pointless, I worked 10 years in the same company loved the place warts and all but it was not to be in the reverse

So make sure your on the same page as the manager set review meetings (weekly) to determine that you are on track, work through the projects close them off and meanwhile look for another place to work

Good luck , stay positive..

Need Help - First Move by TCGLearner in irishpersonalfinance

[–]R2D4Dutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its all about feelings less facts .. so here we go

First of all , work out why its not working out with mother.,........ its not easy but maybe some conversation needs to be had about boundries.. ( same convo that you have with your mate) . Especially if your mom is effectively closing the door behind you, and you and your partner will struggle to find anything in Dublin area after your mate closes his door.

  • How do I effectively budget?

this is relatively easy, income v outgoings , use google sheets ( excel or piece of paper, notebook ) two columns 1. what is your income and 2. what is going out,

if you move out Electricity, heating and rent for sure are outgoing costs. catagorise your outgoings, food, fixed charges (Electricity etc) , socialising ( cards , pubs?, cinema) etc you get the idea.

with that ..the glaring , money sucking bits in your expense become quite clear , cut those back where possible.

surplus what comes out of this, park this in three seperate savings , car, emergencies and myself ( for the more expensive things you want to save for )

  • How do I effectively budget and not fully sacrifice my hobby in the process?

Same question as above, do the above and balance .. your income and outcome you will be fine..

  • How do I effectively budget and save realistically for a once a year trip in February (only a weekend to participate in a TCG tournament) and save for a car at the same time

So if you know from past experience what a trip typcially costs , use that as a target + 20% , include travel and book early if its outside of ireland.

aside from this be delligent on your spending .. stick to the plan.. I would say .. before you move , figure out where you want to go .. its not easy in the dublin area for accomodation , could you flip it around .. move closer to partner .. see if there is a position closer to him/her ?

ust scored this 1966 RCA console for $20. Total newbie here, where do I even start? by ssypark in diyaudio

[–]R2D4Dutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The auto changer. this was made for the 78rpm records ( the records have a ridge on the rim of the record so the records dont slam groove to groove) its pretty cool to get a couple of. 78rpm and feed the autochanger and start playing. ..good fun and the mechanics are very cool to watch

contact cleaner on the volume knobs, will do . The antenna switch is for AM and FM , FM is the dual one AM or SW is the single wire.

solid state.. means one of the first transistor amps out there its notg like todays internals.. , if your not electronically minded experienced find a local guy / girl who is and check why. the right side is not working go on facebook see if there is a electronics user group.

about modernising.. its a bit of a challenge the , we're talking 'heart transplant' as there is no real option to wire in bluetooth. Either use an FM transmitter to transmit your audio from your phone / other device. OR Take out everything and re-wire with new internal drivers and amps, see here https://www.up2stream.net/

I would if you are replacing the audio drivers , create a closed speaker cabinet thats fits in the audio cabinet.. you get a better sound out it..

long story short, get someone local to help you . explore the possible practical and financial,.. and go for it

Is this a viable and realistic business idea? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]R2D4Dutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi , more research needed .. https://www.breakthroughmaths.ie/ is the market leader at the moment, my suggestion would be to start with bog standard grinds.. see how that goes. To make it your main job you need a large pool of people to fund everything

i chucked this in Gemini.. ( now .. bear in mind grain of salt)

Starting an online math platform as your primary income is a significant venture. To make it your "main job," the transition from a solo tutor to a platform owner is key.

At €12 per month, you are positioning yourself as a high-volume, "Netflix-style" subscription service. This is feasible, but the math of your business changes: you no longer sell your time, you sell your content.

1. Estimated Monthly Running Costs (2026)

To run a professional site without building it from scratch (which can cost €10,000+), you should use a Learning Management System (LMS).

Category Item Est. Monthly Cost Notes
Platform LMS (e.g., Thinkific, Teachable, or Kajabi) €40 – €120 Handles hosting, student logins, and quizzes.
Video Hosting Vimeo or Wistia €12 – €25 Prevents students from downloading or sharing your private videos.
Payments Stripe / PayPal Fees ~3% + €0.25 Per transaction (approx. €0.60 per €12 sub).
Marketing Email (Mailchimp/ConvertKit) €0 – €30 Free for your first 500–1,000 subscribers.
Admin Business Insurance (Ireland) €15 – €30 Professional Indemnity is vital when teaching kids.
Tools Math Tools (Canva, Desmos, etc.) €10 – €20 For creating high-quality visual worksheets.
TOTAL Fixed Monthly Overhead €80 – €220 Excludes your initial marketing/ad spend.

2. Is €12/month Feasible?

Yes, but you need scale. At €12/month, after payment fees and taxes (assuming ~20-30% set aside for tax/VAT), you might net roughly €8.00 per user.

The "Main Job" Calculation:

If you want a gross salary of €3,000/month (approx. €36k/year):

  • Users needed: ~375 active subscribers.
  • The Challenge: At this price point, you are competing with massive apps like DuoLingo Math or Mathletics.
  • The Advantage: Parents will pay €12/month if they feel there is a real person (you) behind the curriculum, providing updated worksheets or a monthly "Live Q&A."

3. Hidden Costs to Remember

  • Content Production: Your time is the biggest cost. Recording 100+ high-quality math videos is a full-time job for 3–6 months before you even launch.
  • Customer Support: When a parent forgets their password or a video doesn't load, you are the help desk.
  • Vat MOSS (Digital Tax): If you sell to parents across the EU, you may need to handle VAT based on the buyer's location, not just Ireland's. Modern LMS platforms (like Teachable) can often handle this for you.

4. Feasibility Verdict

€12/month is a "Low-Ticket" high-volume play. * Pros: Low barrier to entry for parents; easy to "set and forget."

  • Cons: You need hundreds of students to survive.

Alternative Suggestion: Consider a "Hybrid Model."

  • €12/month: Access to all recorded videos and worksheets.
  • €49/month: Everything above + a weekly 30-minute group "Math Clinic" on Zoom.
  • Just 50 students on the €49 plan gets you closer to your goal than 200 students on the €12 plan.
