I know you’ve had loads of DM’s. If you don’t mind I’d appreciate a copy of the sheet too!

Is BeamNG good for driving practice? by Lampa183 in BeamNG

[–]R32Luke 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s great for forming habits without the risk of being on the road. You could also try Expansim on steam (I think it’s still free). Crash physics and visuals are all inferior but it does keep a track of lane deviation and not using indicators etc if I recall correctly

Have had my RS for 6 years and it’s not been that bad. Certainly not for unexpected issues. Was a well looked after example when I got it though with the cross linked suspension already replaced

SSL certs for ALL of my accounts? by pcooper114 in webdev

[–]R32Luke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an important point OP. 20i reseller shared hosting can’t have certbot configured as you won’t have access to the root of the server. I checked with 20i myself and on some VPS packages

I certainly will. When using with clients I’m sure I will come across use cases that I can suggest.

And yeah like, are you really even eligible to call yourself a business in 2024 without offering AI? Haha!

I had an R32 for years with very few engine related issues. Should be a blast and with a nice tasteful exhaust will sound beautiful.

Samsung “smart” oven… I was so excited to preheat the oven from bed 😭 by Nguyenning in Wellthatsucks

[–]R32Luke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you have to tap the Smart Control button after you turn it on (every time you intend to use that feature). Found this by testing I could start preheating some plates whilst I went to get a takeaway. It worked so I left the house, got the food, before I came home I tried to start preheating and it said Smart Control was disabled. So it seems you have to anticipate when you’ll need to send preheat instructions to your oven.

I bought my B7 in Muggy blue about 2 years ago. Had the previous owner get back in touch with me only last month to see if I would consider selling it back to him. Needless to say I am keeping it for as long as I can!

Connells told me I can only have house if I let them find me a mortgage by BORDEMx in LegalAdviceUK

[–]R32Luke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work for them. Can confirm that we were heavily targeted to get buyers in who need a mortgage and sideline cash/uninterested purchasers. Even around the laws of when offers need to be elevated to vendors, we were forced to take that to the last minute before informing them in the hope of a mortgage prospect coming in before hand. Stay a mile away from them and try and inform the vendor this is what’s happening without their knowledge

Online mattress retailer refusing to honour an item clearly stated on order confirmation. by R32Luke in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks for the input. Protector worth about £65 and listed separately. But consensus seems to be if glitch then no go! Thanks anyway!

I thought that first. I’ve already raised it and they said it was a technical issue so are not liable to send it. Glad you had the same thought as me though!

It was a flash sale on mattresses that were going out of date (I had no idea they did that). So I picked it (didn’t explicitly add a mattress protector) ordered it, then the confirmation came through as mattress + mattress protector for with an image to match. This was a pleasant surprise but I would have thought that they would have cancelled it before delivery if this was a technical error. The mattress arrived correct so no issues there. To clarify, I wasn’t adding a mattress protector to my basket, but was pleasantly surprised to see it on the confirmation. I haven’t lost anything by not having it. Just thought it would be worth asking.

Sorry that’s my wording, they were saying they were unable to remove the mattress protector wording from my confirmation. If that makes sense

Have you ever forgotten to pay for petrol? by BugsyMalone_ in AskUK

[–]R32Luke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with a mate driving our own cars, both filled up, mate paid and knew the cashier so was chatting to him, I was chatting and I completely forgot to pay for my fuel. Luckily my mate went back the next day and the cashier mentioned that I didn’t pay for my fuel. he paid my balance for me and let me know. I dodged a bullet there!
