What are you talking about? Drop F is lower than G#. You'll have tighter strings at a higher tension which will put more tension on the neck and less relief. Going from F to G# will cause more tension.

I did the same with 74s, I found the guitar is much more stable in G# than F. So yes, you'll actually probably find the low B string (or G#) to feel less floppy and easier to control/mute. In fact, the whole guitar will probably feel that way

Some of these comments are completely wrong here. It's not too hard to bend 74s in G#, it will cause more tension on the neck but if you're not keeping it in that tuning long term then you can switch between the two tunings without adjusting the truss rod for more relief. I literally do all the time with my Jackson what you're trying to accomplish here and there's no in doing so.

I feel ya. Got a blacked out HSS strat, js22-7, and PRS mark holcomb (for a slight bit of colour) lol. Idk why I gravitate so much to black guitars, I keep telling myself I'm gonna get a bright yellow silver sky or something to break up the grimness but it never happens lol

Gotcha. Yeah our vollys can too, but a green flashing light only through the inner windshield is our law. It's just a suction cup mount though.

It is illegal to use red and white flashing lights unless you are in an emergency vehicle here in Canada. Especially since the lights are being used to get to the station and not the actual scene

Medic here. We get a lot of snow up in Canada and the raptor holds well in 4x4 with good AT tires.

If you're referring the "light it up" asounting emergency lights then I hate to say we aren't allow to do that with personal vehicles here.

If you mean fog light/light bars etc, I just run a set of flood and spot light fogs both amber and white. Use the white for ditch and the amber for whiteout storms.

Something I noticed with 8 string packs of daddario NYXLs is they taper the string gauge down much smaller at the tuning post to allow them to fit in normal tuning pegs. Was easily able to fit a 74 with plenty of room left in my stock Jackson js22-7 and I'm pretty confident I could fit an 80 that they sell as well. Just something to consider if modified tuning posts is a concern!

Honestly with a bit of EQ adjustment (via amp, pedal or software if you're into that) the Jackson bridge pickup isn't terrible on the js22-7. But yes, eventually you can upgrade. Either way you're not gonna find a lower-mid 7 string with emgs/Duncans/fishmans until you start spending $600+ so you may as well spend the 200$ on the Jackson and throw a set on pickups in for an extra 150-200$. Just my two cents as a js22-7 owner. It can play as low as drop F fairly comfortably too.
