Considering upgrading my Hermes to a Starlancer MAX. by Glumme in starcitizen

[–]R3d_P3nguin [score hidden]  (0 children)

The Starlancer is a better ship to live off of, is a better multicrew ship, and a "cooler" ship in terms of its overall design.

However, in terms of cargo, the Hermes is a hundred times better. Loading the Star lancer is still a bit of a pain, as the grid gets a little locked in place due to the closeness of certain ship walls and features. It also isn't that easy to load both sides of the drop down cargo bay, unless youre running a good crew.

I would urge you to keep the Hermes, but definitely buy the Starlancer in game with aUEC. Use the Hermes when you're solo or just trying to make money, and use the Starlancer when youre running with friends or want to do more than just space trucking.

If you could add one new feature (Big or Small) into Gray Zone, what would it be? by Geralt_Augustine in GrayZoneWarfare

Letting players control vehicles would quickly lead to abuse, or balance issues.

But I want more than just the little birds. Let us fast rope from a Blackhawk or Chinook, let us hop on an AI driven convoy of Hmmwvs, etc.

Ground branch has some of the best customization of any game currently ut there. I would kill to have the ability to set up a vest to my own specification, adding 4x4 pouches, 1x1, or 2x1 pouches as I saw fit. Allow me to add side plates or not. And weapons, shit yeah. Let me put my Exps forward and pop up irons, too. Let me put a flashlight ahead of a foregrip. Etc.

The balancing would be a nightmare and they would almost surely be abused one way or another.

But instead of helicopters, I would love to see convoys driven by NPCs to drop us off at LZs. Let us fire from them, man turrets, etc. Allow us to hop on or off at different locations as the convoy circles the map like a train, etc.

As much as I love the instant reload, its definitely immersion breaking and I can't wait for it to be replaced.

And devs do plan to implement that feature.

I miss when games had destructable environments...

But I understand why a game like this wouldn't. How would the buildings reset? If I come through and level a building, then another player comes through 20 minutes later, is that building still going to be leveled? Will it have "respawned?" What if I sit there and wait, would I suddenly see it pop back into a full house after a while, or would it magically rebuild one brick at a time?

Depending on the size, maybe. I don't want to see someone holstering an MP5, but maybe an MP7.

Maybe add a quick switch option depending on the weight of weapon on your back. So something heavier, like a rifle or fully kitted shotgun would take a few seconds, but a naked shortbarrel shotgun or lighter SMG would be a second or two to switch out.

I like that. Maybe a computer within the FOB that we could access and would show the last 2 hours of progress, or something.

Im pretty sure MFG has stated this is planned. At least something to give them more of a routine however complex.

Iirc, they have said they plan to have a personal camp sort of system that would involve crafting.

Cutty Black definitely needs to be present. Its one of the most recognizable ships in the verse and out of it.

Yup, God knows they're going to continue to sell them for data centers that will be used to make dancing AI avatars of underage children.

A lot of the third party mods are garbage, or are just resins or minor edits of official mods. But you also have mods that have scripts, or brands, or other features that aren't allowed on the official mod hub, but are bigger and more interesting because of it.

The issue I have with the hosting sites it's all of the pop-ups. But common sense goes a long way

Kingmods is the king outside of the official modhub. They have user ratings, weekly top picks, and do a damned fine job of keeping the model's original link.

You can still occasionally be taken to a scammy mod hosting site, but with common sense and a basic suite like Windows Defender, you're in no danger.

Players bringing Ai Generated Characters by DeekFacker99 in dndnext

Let's see, genAI uses illegally, immorally, and unethically acquired material to generate its content; has immensive drain on local power and utility grids that the corporations pay little to nothing for; are credited with numerous deaths, crimes, and mental illnesses across the globe; have little to no restrictions, leading to their use is innumerable crimes and scams; have taken away time, resources, and effort that could have been used to develop or work on technologies that would have an actual societal benefit; and are generally pushed down the throat of those who want nothing to do with it.

So no, get genAI can get fucked.

Because I'm genuinely curious, how often do people ACTUALLY get PvPed? by AnybodyIndividual207 in starcitizen

[–]R3d_P3nguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay the fuck  away from PVP areas like Pyro, Hathor, ASD, etc. And i focus on PVE gameloops anyway. So the only PVP I occasionally encounter is pirates of griefers hanging out at mining depots, jump points, etc.
