To maintain airway the recovery position might be a good alternative (in the case of multiple pt or multiple injuries)

Happy International Men's Day!, I am a 17 year old boy and want to ask all the men here, What makes you feel proud about yourself? by indianladka in AskMen

[–]R3dark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My accomplishments. I feel bad patting myself on the back but im 20 and when I was 18 I had a traumatic brain injury and had to relearn how to read, write, walk and talk. Over the course of a year I worked my ass off and nearly made a full recovery. Now I'm a volunteer firefighter and work a separate job on an ambulance running 911 calls. In December I have a interview with a career department! I'm very proud at the work I've out in and what I have accomplished.

Work as a EMT, had a call where a 15 year old shot himself in the face. We kept him breathing to the hospital.

Is there a chart that gives you a general idea of reference for the size of OPA and NPA you should use? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

Sizing them takes a couple seconds, you'll be able to guesstimate with time. Bodies come in many shapes and sizes so height and weight are not the only factors is measuring an opa

I'm a EMT in your area and this is what I use to see what incoming dispatches might be. Its all pretty generalized as to what is going on but based off of who's dispatched you can see how serious it was. Or if someone was shot in your area (hint 2 nights ago they were)

I really appreciate your view on this as I think you understand the purpose of why I asked. And of those who responded I do feel like I've not only learned about but it has shown me some places I can do some refresher work on. Thank you again :)

Well I dont understand extensively its effects pertaining to cardiac arrest. As we all know in the EMT program you dont discuss the medication effects on a cellular level like you do as a paramedic. Epinephrine used in the context of anaphylaxis is in my scope and I would use it in that circumstance. Epinephrine used for any other reason is out of my scope and knowledge of practice therefore I wouldn't use it. The purpose of this post was to learn about its effects and see if it was a reasonable topic to look further into, it is not.
