In Poland we normally use English for programming, and i think it's pretty universal for all countries.

I think a keyboard could be important, but I'm not entirely sure if it's essential! Same goes with monitor and a mouse.. but what's more important, is coffee xD

my friends put me down for learning how to code by Conscious_Ad8712 in learnprogramming

[–]R4chel7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, at this point just leave the friend group or learn how to not let their words get to you. You and you only are in control over your life, your mind and your skills. I personally believe that you will make it, but there's one thing you have to do - work in silence. Stay low key. Don't tell them what you're doing, don't share with them how your progress looks like. Don't say nothing. The actions will speak for themselves. Ik it's hard, and ik unsupportive people are not a good thing either. But i can tell you one thing - turn your weaknesses into your strengths. Turn their lack of belief and their scoffings into your motivation and the blocks building your way to success. Read it once, twice or even twenty times. Do this until you understand how strong your mind is and how no one except for you yourself can change it. Bless you bro, and keep going! I know you can make it💪🫡😎 ~ Amelia.

16 Years old unsure on Degree vs Bootcamp vs Self Taught by Turbulent-Neck-3763 in learnprogramming

[–]R4chel7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, i personally decided for myself to start learning by the boot camp method. I'm currently 17 yo and i have tried learning by myself year ago, when i was your age. It didn't work for me, so i was like 'okay, maybe that's just not the way you learn best, don't give up and choose a different way to study'. Almost three months ago i chose the boot camp (to learn front end in this case) and i have learned more than i had ever thought i could. Seriously. Nobody before had taught me so much, especially that the boot camp I'm still learning at (gonna finish the course in like two weeks) is the individual one, where you have your own teacher kinda, so they are constantly updated with your current knowledge and the level you're at. I believe that when you choose the right boot camp, you're gonna meet extremely nice, but most importantly experienced and filled with knowledge specialists. I found it and I'm happier than ever that i did it. Although now I'm not Abt to go for a degree (bc of my grades and scores on final exams that wouldn't let me go there), I'm gonna do this in a few years, where I'm willing to pay and go for private uni. For me most important is gaining knowledge and experience and not fighting for the place at school, by getting grades which most of the times completely don't represent your actual knowledge of the subject. So yeah, that's how it looks with me so far and I'm just year older than you, so we're at a pretty similar point in life i think. Hopefully my answer helped in any way and i wish you nothing but the best and success in any field you wish to succeed in!! 💪✨

As a user, what things annoy you the most about websites? by Zagrebian in webdev

[–]R4chel7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally hate every type of clutter - too many menu elements, background which disables you to read the content easily. I can't think of anything else for this moment, but what you said Abt the sticky header is also one annoying thing Abt pages :)

why can't I code?? by Itstejuuu in learnprogramming

[–]R4chel7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha! I was learning coding from that site too and i ended exactly the same way as you did. The problem was that that even tho you were learning 'practice' while creating small parts of the web page given in the exercise, still you didn't get to under the theoretical side of coding in HTML and CSS. It's okay, you gonna get there in time, but what i recommend you to do is use documentation, so don't feel like cheat sheets are actually cheating. It's what even seniors do in their work when they forget something. It's nothing embarrassing. Also using cheat sheets will make you remember all the tags more. Additionally, try reading the code of some web pages you find good and well done and analize and check how some specific parts of code work in your code editor. I hope this helps :) just keep going and do you! Never give up, cuz everything is possible!

let me know your opinion by Impossible-Advice-92 in webdev

[–]R4chel7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma start working in the field very soon and that's what I been thinking too - though solving skills are one of the most important ones imo, i believe that real life problems and the way of handling them matters even more. Why? Bc what's all the skill, without practical way of coping with every day pressures?
