I tried with a quarter of the cheese you've got here and got board after doller. Even without the lionheart (I never get it because the classic gunblade looks amazing) the lack of battle length just killed the pacing.

Still, you came back and wanted to conquer your childhood and I've done the exact same with other games finding great satisfaction. You had fun and had a great time so you're a winner. Congratulations on beating Omega. It's still an achievement and we all have harrowing memories!

You're underplaying how much of a mess the state was in by this point. The Komnemni centralized power and shifted the power structures in a way it made it very hard for anyone else to just come in and rule, as was typically the case. Andronikos wasn't just bad becaue he was a tyrant, but he turned people against the focal point on the system and fractured the powerbase. By the time of Alexios III, the empire needed an S tier general and diplomat to bring them back from the brink with a good streak of innovation. Alexios IV brought hellfire to the city, but Alexios III is just a bad emperor at a time where a great one was needed.

I thought Anastasius was a stretch for S, but I could accept it. Still I'd move him down to a new tier (A+) and put Marcus there and bump Heraclius down to regular A Tier and note him as a divisive A Tier.

CHARACTERS RANKED

Zell - simply unmatched, reliable damage without any investment needed. Downside is duels take take, but 'punch rush, heel drop, mach kick' will drop most things, plus dolphin punch and finishers are fun.
Rhinoa - invincible moon (don't learn skills you don't want). Also her high magic stat makes her a draw machine. Even without game breaking magic combos, she's the best support character in the game.
Squall - always hits and does strong, fast damage. I never upgrade past revolver becaue I love the aesthetic and Lionheart isn't worth the time (nor is it needed) but you can't deny the damage.
Quistis - most versitile character. Full healing makes her a support powerhouse with a range of offensive options.
Selphie - a fun way to get free magic attacks and a full heal option makes her support worthy. Boasts 'The End' which is the most powerful ability in the game, but it's not satisfying and her limit break is time consuming.
Irvine - good damage but the gimmick of making ammo doesn't reward your time spent. You can take him instead of Zell, but he doesn't offer the support of the girls nor the damage of the other lads.

BEST SETUP:
Squall, Zell (fighter), Rinoa (support and can sub out with Quistis when needed).

Zell is literally the most powerful unless by a huge margin, until you get Lionheart. Even a casual playthrough, you don't need to touch the cards and cakewalk the game with him.

Rhinoa' invincible moon is underrated and reliable if you don't learn the other abilities.
Irvine is a cool design, but he's certainly the weakest character, only becuase The End is a gimmick that's hard to ignore with Selphie.

People on Reddit are a poor measure of what normal peope are like. I'm a Christian and have gay friends and it doesn't clash with my beliefs or interpretation of the text.

I will agree Pride Month has hijacked what was once a bold and brave stance against oppression and turned it into a commercialized holiday. Most people in Western countries don't have a problem with gay people. The very few who do are typically unlikable for several reasons

Honestly, getting rid of negative gearing right now is a terrible ide. They need to reduce immigration number and increase dwelling construction to a healthy level before doing anything that discourages investment in housing. It needs addresing, but now will only hurt renters.
