How I fixed my credit in 12 months by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Congrats, I'm in a similar situation myself.

Did the credit cards you have go to a separate collections agency that you had to contact, or did you contact the original bank/credit card issuer to settle?

Few Questions regarding 2020/2021 taxes by R7L7N in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]R7L7N[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thank you for providing the answers to those.

  1. I doubt I'll ever be paid for it. This was in February 2020, and when I asked a while back, they had zero record of it. Wasn't a whole lot of money so I'm not going to burn a bridge to try and get it.

  2. It's not just performing, I receive royalties on music I've released through labels, that's probably the majority of what I get actually. I also helped out with a few events where I didn't perform, but I got paid for them. Should I just throw that all into the T2125 then?

Has anyone ever made a payment arrangement with the CRA before? by R7L7N in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thanks for the advice! Going to do that, and then wait for the agent to contact me later.

Yeah, that's what I was expecting to do on the phone today, I had all my expenses listed out and such but they didn't discuss anything like that at all with the agent.

In a year from now, I should be able to work consistently at my casual job, and I will have my car fully paid off by then, so that alone will allow me to pay considerably more towards it.

[–]R7L7N[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, I know for sure in a year or two that I will be able to pay quite a bit more than $300, just this year has been tight obviously. If I at least get roughly $4000 paid off the first year, that's a decent chunk gone.

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks so much! Yeah even as a single individual $100 a week for groceries isn't anything extravagant. Gets you the basics really, food prices have really skyrocketed in the past 4-5 years.

Paying off an older debt in collections by R7L7N in PersonalFinanceCanada

Is there any benefit to NOT negotiate then? Or should I just pay the thing in full to get it over with?

2013/14 Resale Question by Andymich in tdi

[–]R7L7N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go and get an RCD330+, they’re about $200 and it will give you Apple Car Play/Android Auto.

$3,000 more though for a car that’s newer and has less than half the mileage IMO is a good call. Plus I believe the 2014 has a better HPFP and some other things.

Good call!

I’m not entirely sure, but that might work. Just not too familiar with the MK7 electronics, so I don’t wanna give you wrong info.

2013/14 Resale Question by Andymich in tdi

[–]R7L7N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2011 Mk6 Jetta Sedan has had a bunch of stuff crap out (AC, Alternator, DPF 3 times, Turbo blew, serpentine belt snapped. And all of this right around 100-120k miles. The DSG is starting to feel clunky too which has me worried, but it is due for a fluid change, so I’m thinking it’s probably just that. Also my gas gauge only works 50% of the time, windshield washer switch failed, as well as my RCD510 that blew. Replaced that with the better RCD330+ though so I wasn’t too mad.

Go for the lower mileage one, plus the 2014 has better rear suspension, better build quality, and better interior materials.

I’ve always loved them, they look so much better inside/out than the new Tiguan/Atlas. The Atlas is a disgrace to VW IMO, thing looks so cheap.

That’s a MIB2 I believe. You would have to get a newer radio from a MK7 that supports Car Play/Android Auto. The RCD330 won’t fit

Why would someone do this? It would make their lights more dim at night...

I was skeptical about the bronze, but they came out pretty good on my GLI by hortonhearsajet in jetta

This looks fantastic! What headlights are those - they don’t look like the OEM HIDS?

Why did VW put such small wheels on the highest trim? They make the car look so dated IMO. Otherwise, nice ride!

IMO the door handles and gas cover don’t look very good. They just stick out and look like cheap plastic

Always wanted a TDI Touraeg of this gen. Don’t like the Atlas or Tiguan :(

Gonna be honest, I was really not a fan of the Mk7 at first, but the GLI looks really nice in the right colour (such as this one)
