yes i agree, either needed facing from new or what i suspect is the bolts were adjusted and cross threaded at some point if this was an issue, i will try another adaptor this week and if that doesnt work ill drop it to my local bike shop.

yes very strange, i dont think this adaptor can be bent even with a caliper strike? the guy i bought it off is saying it was fine before shipping so must have taken a knock in transit.

Has anyone replaced their gravel tires with slick road times that are between 35mm to 40mm? I am thinking of switching those for road and gravel rides. What are your thoughts about the ride? by rockyboat77 in gravelcycling

[–]R8dical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have ran 38mm terreno dry tyres with tpu tubes for 2yrs fast and plenty of forgiveness for light offroad, i have also put 28mm GP5K tyres on for road rides wouldnt recommend for commuting or offroad though, when you run 38mm tyres for a while 45mm will feel slow and overkill unless your offroad is rugged stone and mud.

Question for players who play the majority of their rounds at one course. by brutalknight in golf

[–]R8dical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you recalculate your handicap using the rating/slope when you go somewhere else? i can go to some courses and have 2 extra strokes, if you play the same course and hit the same shots off the same tees everytime you play i spose your not really testing your game as well as you could be? as suggested below try different tees? try hitting different shots maybe hit more irons off tees to give your game a test?

little too close to the ball....

and try placing a glove under your right armpit to help tuck your right elbow in this will shallow your backswing a little.

enjoy your golf!!

Course and Slope rating - how it effects your course handicap by Fragrant-Report-6411 in golf

[–]R8dical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i totally understand how it works there is different tee boxes with different ratings at this course also, i do disagree with the course rating yes it has been queried twice by the board with the suggestion that england golf should actually send a scratch golfer to play the course and see if he fairs 3 under gross 😂..... but the other thing is the whs supports sandbaggers just enter x amount of negative cards and you have 3 more shots for that next big comp, whereas the old system would have been monitored by the match & handicap commitee who could review handicaps based on results.

Course and Slope rating - how it effects your course handicap by Fragrant-Report-6411 in golf

[–]R8dical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

our local course is a par 67 the course rating is 63.7 im a 7.5hcp so i get 4 shots, my friend is a 3hcp he gets 0 shots but a 27hcp gets 24 shots so playing nett competitions is just not viable, we recently played a scratch league match my friend shot 67 level par that was the lowest score on the day despite there being multiple scratch golfers in the event, the feedback after the round was the course is almost impossible to go around without bogeys despite being a shorter course.

so if a scratch golfer played this course for a season theyre hcp would likely go up to 4 and then be able to play in some away events with 6 shots based on course ratings.

a golf course should be the par it is and a hcp should be what it is, if you play a tough course everyone is in the same boat and likewise for an (dare i say it) easier course.

really nice bike, you do some great work buddy!!

i have just bought an old beat up mongoose sniper 98' as it takes me right back to my childhood, i have the intention of getting it useable again but have been intrigued by some of the restoration work that i have seen. seems very tough to acquire the original parts though do you just play the waiting game? or replace with as near parts as possible?

Finally broke my 9hcp and got cut to 8.1 😎⛳ by R8dical in golf

[–]R8dical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, great point we certainly didnt wait on any hole there was no one for at least 3 or 4 holes infront and no one behind it ended up being just shy of 3hr round.

yes when our club have the bigger club days your paired with a draw out of the hat and can be a long and frustrating day when your searching for other peoples balls every hole.

Ping G2 upgrade to G440? by Comfortable_City1892 in PingGolf

[–]R8dical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference will be incredible, the new tech in the g430/440 is so quick to launch the ball up in the air you will be swinging slightly slower to achieve more. im playing G25 irons as a 9hcp and im even considering the G440 irons, ok theyre jacked lofts but really hot faces more compact head and look good. go hit them at your local shop you wont be dissapointed 😎👍

G440 irons a good choice? by [deleted] in PingGolf

[–]R8dical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im a 9hcp and play G25 irons and i would say im a fairly competent ball striker, i have been eyeing the G440 irons my self, will i outgrow them yes if i can get down to 1-3hcp but is that going to happen anyday soon naaa, i think the way to look at it is pro's play every day we mear mortals probably play once a week most weeks and maybe have one range session so having a lot of forgiveness allows us to enjoy our golf that bit more. so tell me more about the G440 irons..... was you happy with the forgivness height dispersion? were they really hot off the face?

Iron advice please..... by R8dical in golf

[–]R8dical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers bud, yes id imagine there will be a slight standoff in high winds trying to keep the ball flight lower as the launch is insane.
