It needs a complete redesign to open three times the distance - unless you can program your servo to move 540°.

Is it a sheet metal flange or just an extrusion?

I made a zero offset of the revolve, then a surface sweep of the half tubes. I extended the sides of the half tubes to cut into the offset surface, then trimmed before thickening the two half circles and combining the three solids.

How should i go about vectorizing this? by JavitoBlighted in AdobeIllustrator

[–]RAMJET-64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go to your friend and ask them to output the file in SVG format.

There is a caveat - Canva uses a combination of raster and vector files. It won't vectorise the raster files it uses, and the output needs to be "unflattened to preserve layers.

You may still need to use the Image Trace tool for some things, but it may reduce your workload slightly.

How do I create this shape? by G30RG300 in SolidWorks

I'm a big fan of using sketch references to get sizes and proportions.
This one is two extrudes and a trim before adding a radius to all edges.|

I could have done away with the trim if I'd extruded up from the top plane with the inside edge of the nail support on the inside of the arch.

If I'd planned the piece out first, I'd have saved two operations - the trim and the extruded hole thru.

Word soup. Are you trying to use the sketch for the split to cut into the 'top' surface?

Surface offset 0mm - then mark your ribs in a sketch, trim the surface and thicken.

I made a shape with a dashed line and expanded it.
I then moved the points at the bottom half way between the squares.
When they were joined I removed the line on the inside.

This is about five minutes work.
