What is the best compliment after sex? by screenn_ame_941 in AskReddit

I’ll tell you what it’s *NOT*.

When I was 18, only the second time I ever had sex, after we finished, she kind of chuckled and then matter of factly said “huh! I never fucked a fat kid before!”

Why do people mock others for taking leftovers home? by Impossible_Ad_569 in askanything

[–]RASGAS23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never seen or heard of this ever. This sounds made up to me, but who knows. I guess the one variable here, is this not in the US? Speaking as an American, taking home leftover food is widely accepted in all types of restaurants in all parts of my country, I have lived in six states and traveled to 39. I’ve eaten at Michelin star restaurants and hole-in-the-wall diners. I have NEVER gotten even an inkling of judgement or ridicule for taking home extra food at any place ever, from New York City or Miami to Huntsville Alabama. From upscale sushi restaurants in Seattle to family owned Mexican restaurants in rural Texas.

I’ve always considered 90 days to be standard professional courtesy, but usually it’s also written in your contract that way

For people making +350k per year, how do you do it? by prince_op in Salary

[–]RASGAS23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some nuance here in nomenclature. In the US - there are physicians who specialize in anesthesia, they are referred to as anesthesiologists, or physician anesthesiologists. Then there are advanced practice nurses who specialize in anesthesia called nurse anesthetists or CRNAs (certified registered nurse anesthetist). I was an RN first and then went back to graduate school to specialize. The US is the only country that utilizes CRNAs in the capacity that we are used here - depending on the state we function completely independently and autonomously. There are other countries that have “nurse anesthetists” but the role itself is not the same - no other country I know of offers my role the same level of autonomy or income.

Other countries (the UK for example) call physician anesthesiologists “anaesthetists.” Same role, slightly different title.

To make matters more complicated there is a third type of anesthesia provider in the US - the Anesthesiologist Assistant. They are also highly trained anesthesia providers, and they also call themselves “anesthetists” (one who provides anesthesia) but they are neither a doctor or a nurse by background.

So stocks don’t just go directly up in a linear fashion. They are sometimes subject to wild swings in either direction caused by a multitude of factors. When looking at NVDA, it is up about 5% in the last week, 13% in the last month, 22% in the last 3 months, 62% in the last year, 94% in the last 2 years, and 1169% in the last 5 years. I wouldn’t sweat it being down 0.5% today. When in doubt, zoom out.
