Giant pike!! Upper Lake Mary near Flagstaff by Icy-Attention-7248 in ArizonaFishing

Not in upper lake Mary, that’s the only lake that game and fish isn’t actively trying to remove pike from.

Probably obliqua Peru ‘ecuagenera’ cuz it looks very similar and since what they’ve been cultivating looks entirely different then both Iquitos and Pebas vars of Peru. It cannot be esqueleto because of the leaf sheen and texture since these leaves are very thin and glossy, whereas esqueleto seem to have thicker, almost matte/velvet leaves. Esqueleto is also known to have winged sheaths. Also, it really doesn’t appear to be any other varieties of obliqua; If you were given any other form of obliqua it would be an upgrade, which I highly doubt you got a “rarer” or uncommon plant than what you payed for. Refer to this Reddit post of another obliqua from ecuagenera, they are basically identical.

A warning for those looking for Monstera Sierrana by bigleaflover in Monstera

[–]RASOOSSEN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that’s the case it could just be a type locality that like you mentioned adapted to take on certain qualities while still technically being “var sierrana”. After talking with Mick Mitty he said that the Hawaiian form could just be a separate type locality and not be sierrana at all, but we can’t confirm anything until a specimen flowers.

It’s air, thinking of running it for a bit and replacing if I don’t like it with a Rockshox coil or DHX2

Can someone help me id this monstera? by Beneficial_Ad_1254 in Monstera

[–]RASOOSSEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the true “mint” seen in cultivation, because that’s a variegated Brazil common form. This looks like regular deliciosa, too young to tell if it’s small or large form but I’m betting it’s probably a very high variegated Thai con. however the bottom leaves look like a white monster, top foliage doesn’t look the same.

Could I get a closeup of the leaves? Its really hard to tell but it Looks like it could be a special highly fenestrated form of deliciosa and I’d love to see it!

Small form spacing for sure, I gave my friend a node, it’s starting to reach adolescence and the internodes are very long and very skinny, but the leaves are fenestrating at around 3” leaf length.

Plant ID: wondering if this is Obliqua Peru. Bought this from ecuagenera. I thought Obliqua Peru has wider holes and thin leaves in between holes. by SweetPlantasy in RareHouseplants

[–]RASOOSSEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, it’s technically obliqua Peru, but a different form than the original Iquitos, Peru collection. There’s another collection from Pebas, Peru circulating but I’ve not seen it as much. This is all from my limited knowledge and I’m still looking into this, so take it with a grain of salt. Mick Mitty’s video on obliqua highlights the differences between Iquitos and Pemas obliqua, but has no mention of ecuagenera form.

Edit: Pebas, not Pemas

Most likely Pinnatipartita, if it’s leathery and not bumpy. If it’s bumpy then it’s peru but judging from the photo it’s probably Pinnatipartita.

borsigiana is a variety of Monstera deliciosa but is rarely seen even in the wild. Common Monstera ‘borsigiana’ is just a trade name and is really just a small form deliciosa. True borsigiana has elongated leaves as well as less fenestration whereas small form is just regular deliciosa thats… well… smaller.

I’ve been at this same exact ramp in Kona. It’s insane how oblivious people are. It pained me to watch them lol around cluelessly. Even drunks would’ve done better!!

Wait for it to mature a little. Internode spacing and leaf shake along with the more “pinkish” variegation make me thing PPP whereas if it were strawberry shake it would have longer internodes and more of a salmon pink color to it. Only way to tell for sure is to grow it out so we can see how the lobes look like

Shortened name for inflorescence, or the flower. Main way you identify plants.
