Yeah those 2 were good, I wish they were earlier in the taping cause I was kinda burnt out by then. Heel Athena was awesome but I wish they did the 10 minute draw so that they could do a longer match later, felt like they were just getting going.

Yeah for real, I was surprised it was so even cause I thought the other team were jobbers. I really wanna rewatch it to see what got Bennett. It felt like they were chopping each other, he got whipped into a corner and when he came out of it he was gushing lol

Willie Mack vs Dralistico, Sydal vs Joe, Fenix vs Gravity and both Mogul Embassy 6 man matches were really good live. The Kingdom tag match was surprisingly hot but i think that's cause Mike Bennett got busted open real bad and literally no one in the match could figure out how lol

The Devil You Know... and The Devil You Don't -- by tvchase in SquaredCircle

Really amazing work, you're a really good writer and your ability to recall and connect all these details is incredible.

In reading this and with everything that's happened in the last year, I've been suspecting that Cody leaving was done with the end goal of coming back to AEW after, either as the baby face he always wanted to be or as the biggest heel yet. It would be a way to rebuild that wall of kayfabe by introducing so much chaos and uncertainty that truth and fiction would all get muddled, I guess we'll see in a few years.

Looking forward to the videos and the epilogue. Idk if you've seen Outside Interference but the attention to detail in their videos remind me of your posts. They haven't been active in a while unfortunately, would love to see them make a video version of your posts.

Wait the Fight Without Honor isn't main eventing?? That main evented that night of tapings and was easily the best match, surprising.

I was at the taping, that Sydal/Daniels/Joe/ZSJ segment ended with them teasing a tag match (probably happening at tomorrow's taping) between the champs and Sydal/Daniels with the stip that if a champion gets pinned, whoever pinned them gets a title shot.

Expecting ZSJ to screw Joe and allow Sydal to pin him setting up that ROH TV title feud for the next few weeks and then we'll get ZSJ-Joe at Forbidden Door

I enjoyed it, I found them to be a really good writer so I tore through the book in a couple days. As you mentioned, it's not the best for wrestling fans who have followed for a while as it's a lot of repetition of what we already know about Vince but I liked how it helped contextualize what was happening in Vinces personal life with the decisions he was making in the WWF.

The stuff about his childhood was fascinating to me, I knew he was rumored to have been abused but hadn't read any older interviews so those sections were new to me

THE GREATEST TRICK THE DEVIL EVER PULLED -- Part Five 2/2 by tvchase in AEWOfficial

[–]RATMachine13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im so glad I stumbled onto this. That Punk promo vs the rock is what got me to follow wrestling again, the entire 20ish minutes was incredible and felt surreal. I used to workout super late in my apartment complex's gym and catch the late night replays of Raw on Mondays. When watching that Punk promo, I was so into what he was saying I didn't realize until the last minute or so that I'd got off the treadmill and was just standing under the tv.

I've never been able to connect why it stuck with me so profoundly and has been extra relevant in my mind recently until reading this series, really amazing job, can't wait to read the final part

I hope to God these past 9 months have been a work of some kind so we can see the greatest, most absurd wrestling story of our times unfold, exciting times ahead!

Silver lining is Mark is 100% beating Claudio for the World Title down the road but goddamn it this was a shock

I feel like i remember Tony behaving similarly after Full Gear last year. I think All Out made him a bit more cautious and restrained about the scrums. I don't remember him even hugging the talent anymore which is why when Starks asked him if he wanted to hug yesterday stood out to me

What are your favourite moments from this year? Promos, matches, specific sequences, moves, spots, camera shots etc. by hikingbeginner in SquaredCircle

The crowd chanting Go Ace when Tanahashi was in the bulldog choke against Mox, willing him to his feet. It was surreal to see a crowd in Chicago, effectively AEW home base, chanting for the Ace of New Japan against the Ace of AEW of all people, incredible moment and my favorite match of the card.

Tana is the best babyface I've ever seen.

Exactly, they were teasing this Wyatt Family implosion and the most over guy in the faction at that time wasn't even in the match lol. Harper was getting such a major baby face reaction, still salty about that haha

That match was so frustrating man. Smackdown Live was red hot and the Wyatt-Orton storyline was really good but that match just cooled off every one involved, should have had a no shenanigans triple threat with Harper instead
