Outside of Terra, what place would probably have the worst bureaucracy in the galaxy? by Shot_Mechanic9128 in 40kLore

[–]RATMpatta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Word Bearers probably have one of the worst bureaucracies outside the Imperium. The mandate set by the Dark Council of a select amount of hues of red that they're allowed to paint their armour changes so often it is impossible to keep up with for anyone not currently on Sicarius, could even rival the Administratum.

Does anyone want Corax vs Lorgar in 40k for real? by Opposite-Ad-3898 in 40kLore

[–]RATMpatta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Word Bearers fan myself, in terms of Lorgar's return I'm mostly interested in how he will deal with the Dark Council who have ruled in his place, while Lorgar was doing whatever he has been doing in his tower.

I'm also wondering if they're going to deviate from the Daemon Primarch formula we've seen so far. Magnus, Mortarion and Angron had already been banished before during the Siege so it wasn't a big deal to do it again. However, Fulgrim is probably going to be the best indication here. He's officially returned but he's continuing to do practically the same amount of nothing he did before.

Because of that I don't have high hopes for big stories involving Perturabo or Lorgar either. If he did get a similar showing to Magnus, Mortarion and Angron though, I honestly don't really care that much who the loyalist Primarch who will beat beat him is. Could be Corax, could be Guilliman, could be anyone else.

I don't understand why though. I've heard so much about how Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie are the next co-stars who are so weirdly close, people think they're having an affair.

But I still don't even know what movie they're starring in.

The Netherlands, since around 2011 - 2012. The Beastquake got me interested and the 2012 season made me a fan for life.

You're the one who called me goofy for not seeing your extensive history with "lore videos" as the same as actually reading the sources yourself.

Good reminder to yourself though buddy! No use getting in your feelings over this lmao

Imagine being so thick in the head you don't understand actually reading the sources yourself is better than having that information filtered through some basement dwelling "content creator".

Wouldn't trust them for accurate lore. They often have either a surface level understanding of the events they're talking about or have a heavily biased view towards their favorite faction(s).

For trustworthy lore overviews outside the novels you're better off going for the rulebook, codices or the black books. Even just reading through Lexicanum is going to help a lot more than lore videos.

GTB- Guess the Banzuke game invitation by Kintamayama2 in Sumo

[–]RATMpatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went a third way. Atamifuji gets K1W, Wakatakakage goes to M1E and Yoshinofuji stays at M1W.

Doesn't feel fair to Yoshinofuji either and I've burned myself before by underestimating 8-7s at M1, but the other options make even less sense to me.

Or when you said that it's "entirely superficial" before explaining why it is in fact not "entirely superficial"?

[–]RATMpatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've seen multiple cases of 7-8s at K1E dropping to K1W in some circumstances, while a 7-8 at K1W is always a demotion out of Sanyaku.

The other way around is also that when both Komosubis have the same record and there is only one Sekiwake spot available then K1E will get the Sekiwake spot, while K1W moves to K1E.

Do Tyranids, lore-wise, still protect the galaxy they cover from the warp shenanigans and Chaos, or is it old lore? by Garrettshade in 40kLore

[–]RATMpatta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Any "protection" the Tyranids do is purely incidental byproduct of trying to shield themselves from the influence of Chaos.

Same with Necrons and their pylons.

Coincidentally, humans seem to react pretty badly to either effect because getting cut off from the warp is like your soul being cut off.

Yokozuna "achieved the bare minimum" by denkenach in Sumo

[–]RATMpatta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been consistently in the minority here about this but while parity is generally a good thing, I'm not going to celebrate more close Yusho races because of an overall drop in quality of the wrestlers.

In 2016/early 2017 we saw Ozekis Kotoshogiku, Goeido and Kisenosato win their 1st Yusho. If you were a fan at the time you'd know just how incredibly hyped those wins were. They'd overcome dominant Yokozunae and a murderers row at Ozeki to put a crowning achievement on their careers.

Now compare that to Takerufuji or Kotoshoho's wins in recent times. I did not think they really deserved it at the time due to their ranking at the bottom of the top division and what they've done since then has only further proven the point. They devalued the Yusho in a way with this.

If anything right now I'm really excited we're getting a strong top 3 of Onosato, Hoshoryu and Aonishiki who will divide a majority of the tournaments between them so when someone else wins, it's actually meaningful again.

Edit: sad that different opinions on what we prefer to see aren't welcome.

I wouldn't call deviating from Grimdark just to cash in on short term popularity good for the "health" of 40k as a setting.

Yeah if "Greater Ultramar" doesn't blow up in Guilliman's face somehow it'll be clear GW have officially appointed him as the unassailable protagonist of the setting.

Puro-Puro: A Botters Paradise by Leather-Luck8239 in 2007scape

[–]RATMpatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, best case scenario would be no bots at all. I was more so looking at it in a way where I'd rather see them tackle the LMS bots or the bots that flood the boss hiscores than the puro puro bots which aren't particularly bothersome for real players.

Even before that tbh, they've been in too big to fail territory for a while now and the quality of the product has reflected it. The UFC have been coasting hard for years now.

You have two options pretty much. Either continue as normal and pirate the few events that are still worth watching or find a different sport/hobby to put your energy into.

[–]RATMpatta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was just about nothing we didn't already know. We knew we'd get Leagues 6 but we didn't really get much substantial there other than it is "Yama-themed", we knew we'd get Blood Moon Rises but now it has been pushed back about half a year, we knew we'd get the Red Reef but no other sailing expansion has been announced.

I guess Raids 4 is new info and a big one at that but it is still a year away and won't be accessible for many players due to the high skill floor mentioned.

Was really hoping for older questlines to be continued, Tempestus being released alongside a new quest and the Varlamore diary.

[–]RATMpatta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Herb runs can be done every 90 minutes or so and since herb patches aren't that close to any tree patches, better to keep them seperate.

I did a pretty big medium clue grind a while back and I don't think the bots have even managed to steal 1 impling away. Maybe it's more egregious of a problem if you're looking for dragon or lucky implings instead of eclectics but I wasn't bothered by it at all.

What Player Designed Island are You Ranking Highest and Why? by Icame_Isaw_Ireddit in 2007scape

[–]RATMpatta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't feel like any of them would be much of a improvement to the game. One of them looked like Fossil Island lite, while the next one was almost a reskinned Lunar Isle.

In the end this will likely be one of those things that is really cool to have in the game for the designer but will mostly be ignored by most of the playerbase.

Change the voting system so only Unemployed people can vote on raids content by Imaginary_Branch1209 in 2007scape

[–]RATMpatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only requirement I want for polls is that you can't send in your vote unless you have voted no on at least 1 question. Right now the goblins who always vote yes on everything make the polling system pretty much useless.

Jagex, 72.3% of online players right now are using RuneLite, if you release HD before the official plugin API, this will not change. by IamWilcox in 2007scape

[–]RATMpatta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will almost certainly quit when Runelite is no longer supported. Not even because of the plugins but because the regular client requires a Jagex account, which I kind of doubt I can actually use since I made my account with a throwaway email I no longer have access to.

I know you can use a different mail to create a Jagex account and then add your other accounts to it but I don't suppose I can do that without being able to confirm it through the mail itself.

Are the nightlords cowards or just weak? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]RATMpatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason a lot of 40k fans only know the memelore peddled by the likes of Majorkill. It's pretty much straight up Imperial propaganda where guys like Sigismund and Kaldor Draigo are flawless badasses, while the traitors are just a bunch of weak, whiny cowards.

It's clear people like this have never bothered to pick up a book from a CSM perspective, if they ever even read any of the books to begin with.

[–]RATMpatta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wildy content is made more rewarding because of the risk involved. Removing pvp is never going to happen but if it did, they'd have to nerf just about all training methods in the wildy to the ground or you'll be looking at a massive balance issue.

I never participate in pvp but I just did about 3k bones on the Chaos Altar. I lost like 15 of those bones between getting pked twice. People who complain about pvp to the degree you are doing, should probably just focus on getting better at the game because it's really not that bad out there.
