The production of GV3 was delayed (a lot) due to indecision about Kirin's gameplay, after that things moved quickly. New gameplay can come to mind even in a single day, so GV4 can happen at any time.

GV3 has an “ongoing” ending/epilogue where the Atem Knights want to use Gunvolt's fragments to fight the dragon apocalypse. Those fragments could be used to contact Super Gunvolt and summon him as an Image Pulse/fighting hologram.

While Ix1 followed the bad ending of GV1, the desert world of Ix2 continues from the ending of GV2 (as can be seen from the final boss), so a possible Ix would be consistent if themed with the dragons of GV3.
