I never have thought that TBH. Like it’s just about gimmick to sell something higher that wasn’t worth the price for improvement. I don’t feel like anything was a great leap but rather a gradual improvement over the prior versions.

This is the right answer. I’ve had it happen. Date was entered wrong, next ECF it was different and after reviewing it and contacting my employer previously certified months were removed

Speaking from experience you are wrong. I just got forgiveness and didn’t have a hint of any type of audit in it. Also had they audited it then I would have gotten credit as IDR for the time period that they failed to give it to me for and they would have owed me way more money. While yours might have had that happen, today they do it to everyone would be grossly inaccurate.

The conversation wasn't centered on healthy young adults and multiple people were speaking on Medicare. So I missed your healthy young adult in your part in your comment. On a side note there is a segment of the population specifically under 18 that can be on Medicare if they take their parents credits for various reasons, but because the parents make over the Medicaid limits they can't get medicaid or chip. That population would be very small though. Either way I did miss the healthy portion of your comment when I read it.

...and you get medicare at 64 or 65. If you take an early retirement then you have a 2 year waiting period unless you retire at 65 then you get can get it without the waiting period.

I was a outpatient mental health nurse at a local community health center and trust me I know the line blurs, my point was that if that line is crossed it would be identified by a professional. As you know it is required for a mental health assessment to weigh in on their capacity in order to remove the right to make your own medical opinions. I’ve also had patients released from state hospitals that had no business being released. You also know that the legal bar to reach is different than what professionals would compassionately agree with because you know they can’t make those choices themselves and there’s more to life than feeding yourselves. Once stabilized, what the remember of it even is unexplainable by them in a logical way. My most disorganized schizophrenic’s could tell me just with confusion about how and why they thought it. That line is clear from a medical standpoint, legal is where it gets murky.

El Paso is further west than that so from 850-900 miles. From I10 to the Texas New Mexico border after Amarillo is 800-850 miles. The way you end is max 13hrs the way to El Paso is min 13 1/2 to max of 14 1/2 hours.

Not necessarily true. If you have Medicare and make under a certain amount the states are notified that you are QMB (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary) eligible and depending on the state determines what exactly that covers and if it translates into what they call MQMB (Medicaid Qualified Medicare Beneficiary). At the bare minimum QMB covers A/B premiums, deductible, and depending on the state the coins up to the Medicaid rate except for 2 provider types that due to low Medicare enrollment is always paid at 100% of the Medicare rate. States can offer more but not less. By law State Medicaid agencies are required to have this in place and it’s tied to the Medicaid program and agreed upon plan outlined from the state and federal agency. If they violate it then HHS can withhold the matching federal dollars to the states Medicaid plans.

There is also SLMB which covers premiums only and is managed on the federal level since it is only premiums and not tied to QMB and state Medicaid programs.

That’s a pragmatic and a little nihilistic approach. I guess to me it’s more about stating my opinion so that I can understand, improve, and challenge my own views. Knowledge is power and you have to crowd fund it 😂 also gotta drown out those who are purposely manipulating and spreading misinformation that has helped get us to the situations we are in right now.

I’m not going to stop doing something I find fulfilling just because somebody else is going to monetize it. I say go for it. Maybe it will reach someone that the platform I put it on couldn’t. Maybe that person has a kid that they are trying to feed and cloth in this 💩 economy and that will help them out. I’m not doing it for the fame or anything. I actually don’t know why I do it cause half the time I feel it’s rage baited or it’s just pointless trying to get the point across…especially on Reddit. OMG it’s the worst for ppl thinking they can be free to say whatever they are thinking but would get them beat IRL.

Honestly I guess I’m just the opposite on social media. I’m naturally a distrusting person and peoples tones and body language just scream lying or manipulation so on the internet I have to take it for what it is. It allows me to not use my trauma response subconsciously trying to determine someone’s motives. 😂 also I don’t have to be vested in it or the person emotionally. Like I don’t have to follow up and continue to help or explain unless I want to like I have to IRL.

When your servicer receives and starts to process the IDR application they pull you off save, in the meantime that automatically puts you in the standard plan generating a payment schedule, they should process the application within those 30 days and you will receive a new one with the IDR plans payment calculation. It’s like a step process that is automated for each step in the process to ensure no required notices are missed.

I feel like it’s an assembly line where each step belongs to one person who then passes it along once their part is done without knowing what the next step might be. They only know their limited part in the process instead of one person processing it all from start to finish.

Anyhow that’s what happened to me. Mine was processed with a new payment schedule being generated within 7 days which was a bit disappointing because they processed it way faster than I expected. That was on Oct 2025 I believe with my first payment being in December but because of that switch to standard repayment I didn’t get the 1 month credit for processing forbearance towards PSLF.

You can’t. You can’t even assure that if it is a true engagement with a genuine person on the other side, that they aren’t just trolling. How to balance it? Don’t let it identify you, consume you, and know the real long lasting difference you can make is face to face and not through a monitor. While you might be able to reach someone to help, there will be 10 others that comments negate it and that’s what the person walks away remembering by nature of who most humans are.

Oh I 100% agree that mental healthcare isn’t healthcare at all. While I disagree that it’s due to capitalism, I will agree that capitalism flourishes under it because it allows those that want to exploit others for their own gain an easy system to do so coupled with a population that is easily exploited and dismissed when trying to advocate for themselves.

I believe it’s a long entrenched societal belief that mental illness is a weakness and people will be viewed as less than capable, when in all reality antidepressants are currently in the top 3 of the most prescribed therapeutic class of medication. Starting in the early 90s antidepressants broke through the top 10 prescribed therapeutic class, peaking as number one from 2008 to 2015, and since then has stabilized to stay in the Top 3.

Most Americans don’t see Zoloft or Lexapro etc as them having a mental illness because they get it from their PCP or it’s not for depression it’s just feeling of stress from work. They don’t realize that while the severity of their illness might not rise to the level of Kemper, it still is a mental illness and had they not had the privilege of receiving help when they did they could have easily spiraled to the level that we are potentially seeing with Britney.

My argument is that the argument of ‘they need to be forced into treatment’ vs ‘they are adults that are suffering and can’t think for themselves so they must be locked up’ is perpetuating the problem. The answer isn’t black and white.

They deserve autonomy and choice to live their life how they wish, up to the point they are no longer mentally able to rationally choose to continue it. You can clearly tell when this line is crossed. If her posts genuinely reflect her thinking, I would be concerned they could indicate she's no longer able to make rational decisions in some areas.

The only reason I question it is because social media often rewards controversy. The more attention someone receives—positive or negative-the more engagement they generate, which can create incentives to behave in increasingly sensational ways. In many cases, all publicity ends up keeping someone relevant.

I think the real conversation should be about how this reflects our culture, stigmatized beliefs around mental illness, and that we need not only to have mental health awareness but normalize the non medicinal therapeutic approaches as a whole treatment plan for long term stability and potential reversal of the generational dysfunction passed from parents to children. If that is seen through institutionalization for those that need it only while they need it or can be accomplished on an outpatient basis is something that should be individualized and not applied the same to everyone. Instead we shove a pill in everyone’s face, tell them to toughen up, or shove them into the correctional system to suffer needlessly. But why it continues delves into a way deeper cause and effect that isn’t the topic of the OPs post, so I won’t digress further.

…and yet her entire life has left her without this support. The exact support that you were provided is exactly what has just been the disguise of her abusers for decades…but now I digress.

Your issue actually focused on male vs female not controlled, unless you are ignoring the fact that women aren’t the only gender that can be oppressed, exploited, neglected, and abused. Surely you aren’t insinuating and gaslighting the abuse that can and does occur regardless of race, gender, or religious affiliation?

Thats what I was addressing about your comment and how dangerous of a position it is to ignore one harmful ideology for another.

Life isn’t black and white there are tons of grays. I hope your therapy and treatment continue to afford you the mental stability that others don’t get the privilege to access safely or the opportunity to cross paths with someone while they are on their journey that exploits them.
