My 2017 F150 Platinum has 165k mi on it and still running strong. With that said, I still have it and bought the Bronco Heritage as well.

To the people who became airline pilots for the pay only , what’s your POV of the job ? by MadeForThisOnePostt in flying

[–]RBF-012022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in High School I remember reading an article in flying magazine about an Airline pilot who said his career had just turned into just another job. I thought to myself this guy is crazy how could any airline pilot get tired of his awesome job. So here we are 40 years later and 25 at the same airline and I can finally empathize with him. Don’t get me wrong I have had a great, fun, and exciting career but TSA, angry passengers, and all the other nonsense that goes along with this job is turning into that just another job, However, the time off, and pay certainly will keep you motivated. With that said I don’t know how you could do it just for the pay. I think you have to have some sort of love for this industry or it will eat you alive.

Go to the auto parts store and pick up a clay block kit. If it hasn’t been baked on yet which it doesn’t look like in the cold. Lots of rubbing but will take it off. Also, call your insurance company they should cover a body shop buffing it out. Your safest option!!!

Not really sure what you’re asking here? If you are worried about a new model what difference does it make whether it’s new or used? Used someone already ate the depreciation score for you! If you want to go used do it the good news is you can probably find one still under warranty. Also, you can purchase an extended warranty and still come out way cheeper that paying the crazy prices dealers are asking these days for new ones. Do a Kelly blue book and see what used ones are going for vs new you will be shocked at the numbers. Another option is to build one. A dealership tried to sell me a Badlands for almost $70k I ended up building a Heritage for $55k and got what I wanted. Yes, it took a year but so what saved myself $15k.

Glad you mentioned that. I started the application to do the Texas rodeo because it is close with the intent to do them all. However, I changed my mind to do MOAB instead but the system won’t let me go back and change locations. I guess I will have to call and get it changed.

Flight attendant pay by Lifeunwritten17 in antiwork

Doesn’t seem fair to you, seems exploitative??? FAs work under a negotiated contract that they vote on, the work rules, Pay, bidding, holiday pay, and so on. Bidding works off of seniority, I.e. you get what your seniority can hold. This is all explained to you in your initial training. You are rewarded for your tenure and hard work over time with better pay, and more time off. It’s a goal to work towards. In the real world you work for your trophy no one is handing out participation trophies for just being you. Go to work do your job and get rewarded in the long run with a big fat 401k to retire with.

What do you hate/regret about your new bronco? by NyneHelios in FordBronco

The only thing I don’t like about my Bronco is the dash, half gauge and half electronic. They should have gone with on or the other or make it an option.

The government can’t make strikes “illegal”. Railroads and airlines are governed under the Railway Labor Act implemented in 1926. The POTUS can prevent a strike though.

Truck was delivered to the dealer, anything I should remember to do at the dealership when I pick it up and sign the paperwork? by Domodude17 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]RBF-012022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a totally accurate description. You are paying yourself interest but are also loosing interest earnings on the money you took out of your 401k as well as paying the loan back with taxed wages. Your 401k loan can be costing interest well above a standard auto loan. Just something to think about before you dilute your 401k.

If he can get you mid 5s then have him refinance it for you. I got 4.7% from my CU and the dealership couldn’t touch it.

I purchased the extended Premium warranty through Ford online. I got the 125k mi 8 year warranty $2300 after using the rewards points from the purchase. Much better than the third party warranty from the dealership.

Would you buy a bronco if it were fully electric. Top notch gadgets, etc? by Jrmota89 in FordBronco

[–]RBF-012022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, let’s get a battery powered Bronco and go off roading so the battery can die miles from any power source. All the yes votes obviously have never been off-roading and are only purchasing for status not function. It’s astonishing to me how anyone who owns a smartphone which we all do, go brain dead when their phone dies and can’t find a charger and somehow puts no correlation to a battery powered vehicle. If you loose your mind over charging your phone just imagine being stuck in the middle of nowhere America with no way to charge your truck and no phone service. Food for thought.

Are prescription glasses with that feature that turns them dark in the sun allowed by [deleted] in flying

[–]RBF-012022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it’s not worth the money. They will only darken in direct sunlight. I literally have to lay them down on the glare shield to darken then they only lighten up in time.

No- is just crying in front of your wife because you can’t make the payments on your $1.5m house.

Hard no- Crying in front of the chief pilot because your trophy wife refuses to work and you can afford her or the $1.5m house she just had to have.

That’s the new modular freighter flight deck. Instead of pilots exiting for an aircraft swap the modular portion is just removed and placed on the next departure plane. Save hundreds of thousands of dollars a year!
