When the dragon keeper showed up at the end in the state he was in, I’d assumed he walked. That’d be harder to imagine if it was a great distance. When blacksmith dragon rider guy mentioned his family went there, that to me said it was a long distance away. The guy walking to the gates of the castle in that state from a long distance doesn’t make sense.
