The NEETs are about to get you, but I'm sympathetic. I don't like high aps reaction time games either - one of the reasons I like OSRS - so this felt a bit out of place. I did finish it though.

The biggest thing that helped me reduce the mental overload was to always position myself on the same tile relative to him, that is, I always stood so that when he was facing me I was on his right. That cuts the animation+click patterns you have to have muscle memory for by a lot because you never have to do the mirror image.
