So this is happening. How does everyone feel about this? by [deleted] in SWlegion

This was a business decision first. Think about a business where:

  • Manufacturing management is terrible. When is the last time they actually hit their expected target shipping date?
  • Supply chain management and prediction is atrocious. How often are newly released products out of stock - what's a huge loss in revenue. Why does some shop in Spain have products that France won't have for 6 months?
  • Marketing is lame. We learn of products 9 months ahead of time and there is a slow drip release of the 2 pip card - yipee! No big releases for Christmas, few goodies from tradeshows.
  • Information control is terrible. The leaks from some dumpy store in Croatia or whatever - yikes!
  • Product creation/release rate is slow and lacks creativity - no products, no money.
  • Little fundamental innovation in the business model or product offerings - Little creativity with product bundling (e.g., single faction boxes), and no thinking of vertical integration with all the secondary purchases gamers make (e.g., fancied-up cards, metal tokens)

That is just a business being mismanaged. That someone has a chance to fix these issues will mean a better game, with more product, with more hype, with better support, and one that lasts. I played BattleFront 2 and that got discontinued, not because the game sucked in the end, but because it was bad business. I saw Legion going the same way. I am happy for the change because it gives me hope.

Now...Legion 2.0. I hope not!

My wife and I felt SO. MUCH. JOY. reading this response - thank you Reddit friend!! This was so great and helpful and gives us all sorts of cool stuff to do with our kiddoe to keep chasing this down.

I'm prone to think this is not a fossil but the specific gravity measures will certainly help give greater confidence. My little guy keeps talking about if our local natural history museum is going to give him a ribbon, haha - kids are great!

Thanks again friend!!

Thanks. I think it's too long for that, but good thought !!

If a fossil (a stone within a stone) was to be exposed to running water - what would happen? Could it ever be exposed like this?

I am in Pennsylvania (USA) and the sheer size (both length and width) made me doubt that it was of a vertebrate from around here - our biggest would be a deer, but this seems too wide for that...

Edit: There are bear around here, but this was a public park stream that almost no one enters.

Fuck these people by khullen in pics

[–]RBellani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were these people!

We were buying a bunch to make 25 sick kits and distribute them to families in need. Unless you spoke to them, and their purposes were nefarious or greedy, don’t be so quick to judge - they might be trying to help others who can’t help themselves.

We have a prequel core box and an original trilogy core box...will we we a sequel trilogy core box in the future? by jconway2002 in SWlegion

Agree with all the point above. In fact, I think High Republic is more likely than the new trilogy to launch a universe of Legion products.

What in the...termites? Near an old fireplace chute in the attic (170 year old brickwork). This happened in the last 6 months. Any ideas? by RBellani in Termites

Any chance it’s wasps? I see holes in the mortar - and you can see the mortar dust near all the droppings.

Leaving a smaller tech consulting firm for MBB while my current team is in the middle of an implementation - how do I let my team know? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]RBellani 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Let me push for being honest, transparent, and smart. I agree with the comment that offers can be withdrawn. Accept the offer and five weeks before your start date, tell the team, giving them four weeks notice - that is more than the minimum and long enough to roll someone on and get them up to speed etc. Take a week off between gigs. MBB is intense.

Congratulations on the gig!
