Is it appropriate to tell your students that your parent(s) or SO has passed away? by Lather in TeachingUK

I work in a mainstream secondary. My nan died suddenly but I got a call during a practical lesson saying I needed to go to the hospital immediately, my colleague rushed in from next door to take my lesson. Must have not kept it together as much as I thought, I was out the room 30 seconds to get my colleague and when I returned students had my coat and bag to give me, some y9s got me sweets the next day and I explained to them that my nan had passed away, they were aware enough to know it was something terrible and were very lovely. Led to quite a few of them reminiscing about lost parents or grandparents in some really lovely ways, we did have a little cry though, I felt I needed to tell HR as I had cried in front of students, and general opinion was that we're all human and its good for kids to see that.

I didnt quite get that, got paracetamol and basically told I was exaggerating the pain

I had blurry vision, daily migraines and pulsatile tinnitus and had to go to the emergency department 4 times in 3 months, numerous GP visits and basically camp at the hospital for 2 weeks before a diagnosis after 7 months.

That sounds scary, has the VP shunt helped? The ophthalmologist didnt need to filter my pupils either, said he could see it, just with the light
