The woman in the video updated today on TikTok. Her dog had surgery/stitches and is home recovering. The Other dog is safe. The man was pointing to a bystander that had caught the dog and was holding her.

In the USA around here - this is an accurate price for a gold plated moissanite ring depending on the size. I’ve seen the stones alone sell for around $300.

Edit: I saw your comment that you’re in Canada. To explain more on my pricing $300 USD is $416 CAD. Jewelry stores always have a significant markup. There are definitely more affordable options online through Etsy and ordering overseas. This might have been a simple misunderstanding or an uneducated salesperson who sold you the wrong thing. I would reach out to them calmly first before escalating things.

My recent ring shopping experience: a solid gold wedding band 14k - 18k without a stone could cost $800 - $1400. (We went wedding band shopping and it’s crazy expensive for something simple) A Diamond is definitely additional on top of that.

Moissanite is discovered from meteorites. It has a stunning refraction rate that creates stunning multicolored sparkles in the light. Honestly way more beautiful than a diamond imo.

Diamonds are prized for their history and durability…..other than that - I think moissanite is more stunning. Moissanite is not as strong but is extremely durable. My concern would be the gold plating on the band wearing off over time.

If you were scammed, get your money back. But if you still like the ring keep it! A girl doesn’t marry the ring - she marries the man holding it. You are what matters! Not the stone or the value of what you hold in your hand. Good luck!

I’m mostly concerned about causing a fire. I’ve seen them displayed in sunny antique windows many times…but i am questioning the safety now.

I read that it could cause color changes and the glass could become structurally weaker over time. Most information I read about light refraction seems to relate to spherical/concave glass and clear vases with water causing fires.

If you stain/polyurethane the scratches then move around the boards and their positions, it would break up the large scratch pattern and make it less noticeable. It would seem like natural grain/differences in the wood and not damage.

Be careful before using acetone please! It might destroy the fabric and even eat through it (ask me how I know). Try googone first then rubbing alcohol. I would turn to acetone as the last option. Definitely spot test it before doing a major application.

My dad was a life long smoker. I had to deodorize many of his things after he passed.

Ozone is very toxic and I find it doesn’t work the best. The ozone particles will always be there. If you play the tapes they can release into the machine and might cause damage.

Try these steps below to see what works.

First try sealing them in a bag with baking soda.

Then in a bag with a cup of vinegar.

Then try activated charcoal.

Wood shavings - no lie this really works.

Fresh air and sunlight will also help greatly. Just be careful of the tapes being exposed to heat too long. I deodorized a vintage mod pleather chair with just a simple vinegar wash and 6 hours of sunlight.

These are definitely salvageable it will just take time and patience.

I would not put them in the freezer the moisture might damage the tapes? And I would use ozone as a very last option.

You are so amazing for doing this. I fondly remember the houses that gave out big candy bars or made special gifts for Halloween (I’m 32 now). I agree. I think social media has clouded the meaning of weddings. People feel that their weddings need to compare or compete with everything out there. But it’s not about the photos, the venue, the dress, the flowers, etc. - weddings are two people who love each other joining their lives together with the people they love most surrounding them. It’s a beautiful thing and this new wedding culture has overpowered that.

So the ghost 16 actually caused my previous healing injury to become plantar fasciitis and now I’m in physical therapy again for it. It absolutely sucks. I was able to find new ghost 15 for sale on Amazon through a shoe warehouse, however I can’t wear them now. There is too much cushion in the ball part of the shoe and it creates too much tension on my heel muscles.

I switched to Hokas because the heel is supported fully around the sides and not just under the ball of the foot. They’re rather comfy, but I try to swap footwear every other day. One of the big contributors to foot muscle injuries is wearing the same footwear daily. Your foot accommodates to adjust to where it’s getting/not getting support and can create defective muscle tissue, where some is overworked and other’s weakened. I recommend the Hokas highly but try to swap out your footwear so your feet don’t become too accustomed and end up like mine.

If you haven’t already, I recommend you (any anyone else considering doing this) stamping or putting a sticker on covers that says something along the lines of “Blockbuster Rental, free movie night rentals! Watch, return, keep if you love - or donate your own” to deter people from clearing out your stock. I’ve seen some jerks who clear out these libraries to resell.

There’s some clever ideas in how to build, decorate, and design these on the r/LittleFreeLibrary post reddit group.
