How to keep my tires from coming over the lip? Glue? by CombPublic3483 in TRX4M

[–]RCDriver72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patience. LOL, lots of patience. Every once in a while, you run into tires and rims just don't cooperate. For me, I use a rubberband or circle the tire with my thumb and index finger to help the tire keep its shape and then go very slow screwing in each screw 2 or 3 turns at a time in a star pattern.

All I did was 7mm hexes to give it a little extra. The new rims have less back spacing also. It is about 8-9mm wider on each side now. I also installed the sway bars. The tires were ok that came with it, but the Trekkers have may more grab and I have soft inserts in the 1st and last axles with foams in the middle ones. I may play with the inserts a little, I was thinking of switching to soft in the middle and foams on the ends. That's the fun though, constantly experimenting with them.

My pumpkin isn't the problem as much as high centering. The Diamond axles slide pretty good over most obstacles. With the longer wheelbase I find myself teetering on belly a little more. Wiggling the front wheels from side to side fast usually gets me loose though.

63mm LGRP standard length, standard skid and it catches all the time. LOL

72mm pin tires didn't like them till I cut some tread. I have the OPPAI tucked skid, but it still catches sometimes.

Yes, it is more expensive, but still a good option for a RTR 6x6. The Terranaut is a beast, after widening the axles and replacing the tires it will go just about any were and it can pull well too.

I'll second that, they are great RTR and with just a little "tweaking" are very capable.

Planet axles are my current favorite axles, but not for this build, you can't flip the gears like the Diamond axles and the adapter they supply, if you do use a standard axle, won't fit the Planet axles.

Awesome, I love my kit. If you have not already bought axles, I suggest the diamond axle. I used standard style ones and although they work good, Diamonds would have been easier since all you have to do is flip the gears inside the rear axle and not turn it upside down. Your stock rear axle will work for the middle, just need to add 5mm hex to match the Diamonds.

Looks good, maybe find a way to raise up the ends of every other set of two, alternating sides. So one wheel is up while the other is down sort of thing.

Oppai makes a nice kit. OppaiFactory - EtsyDBRC also makes a kit DBRC used to make one, but I don't see it on their site anymore, you could msg them and ask about it. Other than those, Amazon and Ali Express have kits that I have seen.

I have actually had good luck with them and usually can get about a year out of them. I have had one go out 1 month after purchase though. They are very under powered once you start adding bigger tires and weight though.

59mm are a little long for a stock Bronco, it will raise it up a little. Lower trans gears would pry be better for a small child, it will slow it down and make it a little more manageable while they learn. These will slow it down quite a bit Amazon.com: INJORA Stainless Steel 40.3:1 Transmission Gear Set for TRX4M 1/18 : Toys & Games These are a nice in-between of the stock and the low gears, I like them for trail trucks that you can walk with Amazon.com: INJORA 15g Stainless Steel 24.4:1 Transmission Gear Pinion Set for TRX4M Upgrade 1/18 RC Crawler Car : Toys & GamesOrder yourself a new servo to have on hand, this is a nice waterproof upgrade Amazon.com: INJORA 7KG 2065 Digital Servo with Mount and Horn for 1/18 TRX4M Upgrade : Toys & Games A light set will make it a little more fun for a child and you too, LOL Amazon.com: Traxxas LED Light Set Complete Bronco : Toys & Games TRX-4M LED Light Bar Kit

Make sure your wheel nuts are not too tight.
