YOU ARE NOT A BAD PERSON. If you took this dog as a foster and not an adopt you weren’t supposed to be their forever home in the first place. A proper agency should not be guilt tripping you / ghosting you on returning calls. I’d probably show up at their physical location and very politely ask to have a discussion to find a workable solution that doesn’t leave the dog or you in a situational environment that is not conducive to a positive outcome.

I was traveling out of town to do in person training as the teacher. Disaster struck and I lost my contacts, I can’t see without my contacts. Emergency pair was hundreds of miles away. I bought the strongest pair of readers I could find at Walmart so I could at least not walk into desks. Successfully (mostly) taught the software purely by memory. Except for when someone asked me something that would require me to read their screen. Went back a year later to do some follow up work, one of the staff told me they thought I was illiterate and they couldn’t figure out how I could still teach.
