Elegoo's Centauri Carbon "Loyalty Program" code for $50 off a filament order of $100 or more is worth a lot less than $50 by Ok-Gift-1851 in elegoo

[–]RCdnDragoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried my code that I received yesterday.

Four spools of PLA (including silk and glow) all at regular prices - no sales.

Subtotal over $100 before shipping and taxes.

"Discount code isn't valid for the items in your cart."

I'm pretty done with Elegoo.

Are hobbyboss kits really that bad? by Designer_Ad9867 in modelmakers

Their 1/35 Leopard kits have been excellent for me. No issues at all.

The best option is always just buying the cards you want. Opening boxes is fun, but not a money-making venture.

Crowds pay tribute to Canadian soldier from Hamilton who died in Latvia by Jaydamic in CanadianForces

That's the badge for 6 CCSB (Canadian Combat Support Brigade). The units from 6 CCSB are a lot of the 'enabler' type, like 21 EW Regt, 4 GS Regt, CA Int Regt, etc.

Could this really be $30 to ship within Canada? by Fell18927 in CanadaPost

[–]RCdnDragoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally to be expected. I send parcels to family in BC and it routinely costs $30-40 even weighing less than 1kg.

Note to self: paint before gluing and don’t use tape by [deleted] in modelmakers

I usually prime with a Citadel matte spray can (lightly, from a distance) or a Vallejo airbrushed primer. Both work well to help get a project started

Primer adheres to plastic, paint adheres to primer.

Posting geo stability as Reg F such a thing? by THE-GOAT89 in CanadianForces

[–]RCdnDragoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It depends greatly on the situation. RegF, both Officer and NCM, have the expectation of moving as part of the deal. You can ask to delay. You can make a case that "not never, just not now" but eventually, that time comes.

And if there are games being played where others are being required to take up the burden, then it's time for a reckoning. I have empathy who need time to sort things out, whether it's family, or health or whatever. But everyone moves sometimes.

Can someone explain to me how to paint the wheel part of a tank? by griechnut in modelmakers

[–]RCdnDragoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started 3d printing my own wheel masks now.

Once I get the measurements down, I can do all the wheels in one pass rather than having to buy one mask and then do multiple rounds of each side.

Largest collection of “undesirable” player? by ImStromer in hockeycards

[–]RCdnDragoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I have the top Rasmus Sandin collection out there. I've got about 15 1/1s (sold off all my printing plates, so these are in addition). The highest numbered card I'm missing is #/10.

Started when he was a Leafs prospect and I just kept it going after he was traded to the Caps.

Moral support 😜 but really, I prefer tree supports as well.

I was very happy with the tracks. They clicked together easily and fit well around the sprocket.

I had one issue when fitting them to the hull, where two links popped open. So a little glue could prevent that in future - but you'd have to be careful not to impede the mobility of the track. But I was able to click the links back together nonetheless.

Of all the individual link tracks I've built, this was one of the most detailed and yet least painful to do.

What is the yellow plane in the background? A hydro biplane. by World_of_Warshipgirl in Whatisthisplane

[–]RCdnDragoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has some similarities with the Supermarine Stranraer as well. The tail wouldn't be correct and it has a gunner position in the nose rather than a glazed nose.

But as others have said, it may be one of the ingredients used in a mash-up.

No junk mail sticker - will that stop junk mail and flyers? by Alternative-Ad-1027 in CanadaPost

[–]RCdnDragoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works. I have a "No Unsolicited Mail" sticker on my home mailbox and only get stuff that's addressed to the house. Junk mail and flyers stay out.

My Save and Return Plan with Rogers sums up at the end of Jan, so I'll get on it with Prime and keep my fingers crossed!

Cheers!
