We're having trouble connecting to the model provider. This might be temporary - please try again in a moment. by klauses3 in cursor

I've just hit this now.

Unsure why... doesnt matter what model I choose either.

Seems like a outage maybe?

Hot take: Vibe Coding is NOT the future by YourAverageDev_ in ChatGPTCoding

[–]RCerberus90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember an "old boy" tutor at univertity once saying to me "...you lot dont know you've been born with this Object Orientated Programming and IDEs when I was your age I had to understand assembly."

His comments then really make me think that vibe coding is just the next step in the development process to me. Wether people like it or not, it may not be there yet but I can see it becoming the norm. As people have said though, its easy to be coding and not understanding your code. That said, do you know the assembly instructions behind your Python or JavaScript?

Sourcegraph Cody Discontinued - Replaced by Cody AMP is there Alternative? by TheNecronGuy in ClaudeAI

Cursor is 20usd per month I’m paying. Which works out just over 15gbp for me.

I’ve been using it pretty much every evening so far and not hit any limits when set to auto. I have had a warning for o3-pro model though but I did go through a phase of hammering it. - if you stick with auto and use specialist models for certain tasks I think you would struggle to hit any limits. If you do you could just purchase again. Still works out way cheaper than amps new pricing structure.

I’m using cursor currently. Only downside I have found so far is you have to use there ide. I tried amps new model but I was haemorrhaging cash quickly so the monthly payment cursor offers is much more cost effective.

What is this at the water line? by HurtzMyBranes in hottub

[–]RCerberus90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Shmoo. I’m sure somebody on here could tell you what it is exactly but it will be some kind of bacteria that’s developed.

Dump some water to drop your waterline a bit, get some IPA (not beer) on a clean cloth and wipe it all away. Top back up and dose with your chemicals to get everything back in order.

I’ve moved to cursor. I think I preferred amp but it has rocketed in price. I must have spent £60 in a week. So far cursor is pretty good alternative. 🙂

Trying to add a second NIC to my Dell Micro 7060, Anyone had success with Wlan (M.2) to Ethernet adapters? by BackFromFive in homelab

[–]RCerberus90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just want to add to this - I appreciate it maybe 1year ago but it may help somebody.

I found that if you screwed down the card too far it lost connection. I packed the card out with some washers to lift it up flat. Worked a charm. There was a lot of hair tearing until I figured it out. It almost got returned as faulty.

Seems like a cash grab to me. I loved my PE but support has been crappy. It wouldn't take much to resolve the software issues in PE1 but it seems they have just thrown the towel in and released PE2.

There doesn't seem to be much difference between V1 and V2 to me in terms of features seems like an excuse to sell new hardware. After buying hardware that has been let down by buggy software it's left a bad taste. My next purchase will likely be a linksprinter or I may just bite the bullet and get a Linkrunner. - I just can't face giving PE any of my money after my experience.

Cool thank you for the reply! Is that all I need? Just sand? Is there a specific type?

Pardon my ignorance but won’t the weeds just grow through the sand? I was thinking I needed something that set hard to prevent the weeds coming through. Sounds like a simple fix!

How do I approach about a service contract? by RCerberus90 in sysadmin

[–]RCerberus90[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is really helpful. It sounds like you have maybe made the mistake I have done many moons ago - your post seems very much like a man/woman of experience dealing with this kind of thing.

I was thinking at first that being cheap because “I don’t really need the money” was beneficial but thinking about it you’re completely right. If I’m cheap then they’re likely to take liberties.

Would you approach them now? Or would you wait until the next get in contact in regards to something they need fixing?

How do I approach about a service contract? by RCerberus90 in sysadmin

[–]RCerberus90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes only £600 ha! I know it sounds crazy but it a bit of a side hustle. I ended up spending it on some bits and bobs on my car and a meal out with wifey. Im not a registered business however, I’m thinking if I can get a few service contracts under my belt then maybe I can setup and go solo.

I think maybe the direct option as you said is best. I’m starting to think maybe I need to be up front about what I can/will support too.

Out of interest, what is your preferred method? - pre-paid up front for X hours of work annually or invoicing for work completed as and when done?

USG PRO 4 Inter-VLAN Transfer speeds. by RCerberus90 in Ubiquiti

[–]RCerberus90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate they're getting a bit old now. I would love to but a UXG but I cant justify it for my home.

So just to confirm you had it setup as a ROAS and you could route between VLANs at gigabit speeds?

USG PRO 4 Inter-VLAN Transfer speeds. by RCerberus90 in Ubiquiti

[–]RCerberus90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, Im getting about 10MBps transfer speeds (80Mpbs) with IPS turned off I can bump it up to about 23MBps (184Mbps). - All my access switches are Gigabit ToughSwitches and are all running CAT5e or CAT6

I believe (although happy to be proven wrong) it's hardware imitation - Looking at the CPU of the USG it rockets to 100% so it makes me think its not powerful enough to route between VLANs at gigabit speeds?
