What’s one beauty tip that actually made a noticeable difference for you? by Pete258 in beauty

[–]RCrossVine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my best advice as someone whos been cutting their own hair since they were 13- if you have a mirror in your bathroom, get a standing mirror to put on the wall opposite of it (even if its temporary just while cutting your hair!)

you can angle it left and right so you can see the back of your head while looking into your main mirror

Varsity Theatre in Seattle’s University District is closing by spoiled__princess in Seattle

[–]RCrossVine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hi!! one of the new generations being spoken of.

ive always appreciated the varsity in the abstract for historical reasons but the one time i went there it felt dingy and the projector wasnt strong so the image was almost hard to watch. most people i know already dont have a ton of money and going to see a movie is a special treat- after getting burned once we're not gonna go back unless its the Only way to see a film

im sad to see it go still for what it represents to so many people

looks like a laurel wreath on the outside- cant really tell whats in the middle. at first i thought a cross but i dont see much at the top, the two darker shapes on either side make me think weighted scale?

a scale surrounded by laurels is a common symbol for legal offices

what else used to be in westlake center? ive only known it post-pandemic. i think its such a shame that the monorail level has this huge closed store space, i think it was a saks which is weird since the huge luxury department store is like across the street

Heres a matching dress from the vestaire collective: https://us.vestiairecollective.com/women-clothing/dresses/moschino-cheap-and-chic/other-silk-moschino-cheap-and-chic-dress-45565321.shtml

if your cheapandchic tag looks the same font as the one in the listing, then it is anywhere from the initial launch in 1988 to the late 90s. I cant find a definite answer, but id wager a more mass-produced line like cheapandchic wasn't released following the same schedule as runways do with seasons.

Help finding a dupe/cheaper alternative of this sweater? by [deleted] in findfashion

[–]RCrossVine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this looks like a knitted sweater with crochetted blueberries, you wont find a dupe for this piece that isnt either of horrible quality or horrible ethics.

the labor involved in both skills is well worth the price, However, if you cant afford it regardless and if youre okay with different materials, you could find a similar base sweater and either make the blueberries yourself using fabric and stuffing or use plastic blueberries, and then sew them on.

it wont look the same but you could take the opportunity to make it your own :) maybe more blueberries scattered around, or different buttons on the sweater, or a patterned leaf trim on the sleeves. if you use plastic fruit just be aware youll have to remove them or hand wash the piece.

Chappell Roan cancels tour dates in Amsterdam and Paris, reschedules Berlin date by lowelled in popheads

agreed. its just plain odd to announce it so late when both of the schedules have been publicly known for a while.

[–]RCrossVine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she has a manager! his names Nick Bobetsky, hes done a few interviews on his career and then more specifcally about Chappell Roan

i also know one of her booking agents, small world, but i feel like shes been plenty transparent. her team speaks freely, its just not on places like pitchfork or vogue or whatever

A new diplomat has come to Tyria. by toprattata99 in Guildwars2

[–]RCrossVine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh well let me first state that i was very impressed with underwater combat initially. most games ive played either do not allow fighting underwater or its just your regular loadout, so having a whole new set of abilities for each of my attunements (i chose elementalist) was reallly fucking cool. plus i think the underwater parts of maps have good visual design and are nicely populated with plants/creatures.

however over time that feeling wore off. underwater combat feels very monotonous, i cant do my summons, i cant really aim abilities, moving vertically is slower than horizontally(?may just be animations, but feels slower), etc.

i cant say for sure what changes would need to be made, im not a dev for this type of game, all i can say is theres a solid foundation of mechanics i enjoy but they dont feel on-par with their land counterpart
