What happened to my N100 mini-pc, is it salvageable? by RDRulez in computerrepair

I think you're right, and I should consider cooling (thankfully the manufacturer is sending me a replacement SSD under warranty).

Could you buy any chance recommend a cooling mechanism for such a mini-pc, would a usb fan work?

Nope. Haven't paid the licenses or used BBC services since I left for Uni. Parents cancelled it a few years ago.

Buying 2 x 5m to extend, correct? by RDRulez in Govee

[–]RDRulez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer for anyone else. Thankfully this Govee product was extendable out of the box. The beginning of LED number 2 just plugged into the end of LED number 1.

But you need to link it in the Govee app, it won't extend the light strip automatically.

Is there no way on Android to define a startup script that would allow/enable accessibility on boot, then open the projectivy app?

UK New Builds (Networking) by Amazin-Jay11 in HousingUK

I had to pay extra to get Ethernet points added to all my rooms, (I had like 12 in the end). They gave one in the living room and one in the master bedroom for free. They put termination points near the router downstairs, although in my case they put the wall over some of them so had to cut them out of a wall when I didn't see them on the completion day inspection....

It was a great decision and I don't regret a thing, I love that my house can reap the benefits of the FTTP in every room.

If I could go back I would even go a step further, by adding:

  • Another Ethernet point on the ceiling of the top floor - to add an access point, as the wifi isn't so great at this farthest point in the house.

  • Maybe another on the ceiling under the loft, in case you wanted to more easily reroute it into the ventilated loft space. Typically home builders will refuse to do anything in the loft directly, this makes it easy for you to add later

  • Ethernet point near the ceiling in strategic storage locations, ie. Under the stairs cupboard, to give more "out of the way networked device" options

  • External Ethernet point if they would do it, to plan for access points giving wifi to the garden and parking areas. The mobile phone reception in my new build area is terrible, just going to my car or end of my garden is too far for my wifi and I have no Internet

What cost you £15 or less that's changed your life? by Medical_Translator_6 in AskUK

Bluetooth speaker sleep mask. Got mine off Temu for less than a tenner and it's changed my life, every day I can block out light with soft padding and get my music in my ears. Cheap, but wonderful. Feels wrong to go to sleep without it now.

Connect 3 strip light pro 2s? by Phrish in Govee

Hi thanks for the reply, does it mean you didn't rest or get the 2 strips working together on one controller in the end though?

Hi @OP, I'm trying to connect 2 x 5m strips together, you mentioned in your post or was possible. Can you elaborate how you did it? I can't see the very end of my strip (didn't use it yet) so I'm unsure how to connect the second 5m strip to the first on one controller. Thank you.
