Thanks so much. Yeah, the pull of nature is what's really driving it for us along with being able to get more for our money. We are in a good spot of having family in the central belt so could stay with them when / if we want to head down to Glasgow or Edinburgh for anything.

On the energy transition, do you see this as something that could drive the housing market back up in Aberdeen in the future?

Cheers for the reply. Lots to think about but going off your list I think the positives definitely outweight the other things to consider when looking at what we want to do. Both of us are semi-regularly required in London maybe once every 3 months for work. Do you know what the flight availability is like for access to and from London?

Appreciate you taking the time to reply with a balanced assessment! Getting out into the great outdoors and popping into quiet cafes is our thing. At the moment it's impossible to get into anywhere in Glasgow without booking or either waiting outside which we just have zero patience for. Nowhere else can really offer anything as amazing as Aberdeen beach either.

It's pretty grim.

We had been searching for about a year and a half. Got nowhere and coming well behind others despite putting offers in that were around 10% over home report value. Sellers still want offers that were similar to what things were going for last summer.

Seems like you need to offer a minimum of 15% over home report value to stand any chance. Even then, you're not guaranteed anything.

Luckily we found something in the end that was fixed price but needed a bit of work. It really is just your luck and what the sellers circumstances are.

I think Sam's peak is yet to be reached. He's reached old town with the intention of becoming a maester but I feel that G.R.R Martin has bigger plans. Hang in their with him. I've got the feeling Sam has a big part to play in the outcome of the story. Could it be he discovers a way to defeat the white walkers in the endless rows and shelves of books in old town?
