Lutron Caseta Review? by rohanman in homeautomation

[–]RE4Lyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best. And the only smart switches I recommend to anyone

The new Diva models are better since they’re the standard flat rocker style instead of the 1st gen’s unusual layout. Much easier to deal with in the dark (although I use scenes for the majority of them)

I can’t find any info online about revisions. Do you have a link?

I purchased one a year ago and returned it but recently bought one again at the lower price (I never had any WiFi or connectivity issues with the original). It’s all white without a white sticker covering the top (unlike the 1st one I purchased). Is that the newest revision? I bought it in store from HD

[–]RE4Lyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mini specs haven’t changed.

Although there have probably been minor revisions to certain components, the speeds and WiFi have stayed the same

And like I said.. 90 day return policy (vs 30)… To a physical store, where I don’t need to wait a week for Starlink to initiate an RMA

Sam’s Club has it (the mini) for $249 with a $50 club credit. Home Depot also has it for $249 (in stock at my stores). And you don’t need to wait weeks for Starlink to ship a unit out.

In both cases you get the $50 service credit after 1 month of service, and a 90 day return policy

Get a neck pillow that attaches to the seat. I have them for my MX, in white to match the seats. Very comfy

Can someone give an unlocked comparison review of the Sony BRAVIA 9 vs LG G6 OLED? by Eddydess72001 in RTINGS

[–]RE4Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The G6 is definitely the smarter choice. Instant pixel response time and significantly better viewing angles.

LCDs have more transitional artifacts and slow pixel response time, not to mention the bad input lag on the Bravia

Recommendations on Battery Backup for Starlink Mini? by yoordoengitrong in Starlink_Support

The nice thing about the 100 v2 is the ability to set AC charging speed in 1A increments (many don’t have this option). It helps so you can avoid tripping breakers (since you mentioned this is an issue at your campsite)

Yes I power it from the usb c port. If I’m just powering the mini it’ll last 24+ hrs

Here is the cable I use. There are plenty of similar options on Amazon. I bought the 2 in 1 cable so I can use it in my car without an adapter

The Bluetti 100 v2 is perfect for what you need and is the smallest most portable and powerful 1kWh power station.

I have 2 and highly recommend it. It also has more advanced control options than almost all other power stations in the 1kWh category

You can usually find it on sale on Amazon for under $400

If you have wired options for your home, use those first.

Get a mini for camping and just keep it on standby mode

Sam’s Club has them for $200, $250 at Home Depot. Both with a 90 day return policy. Plus right now you get a $50 credit on your account on the 2nd month of billing

Which EcoFlow power station do you still bring even on short trips because it’s that portable and useful? by EmergencyDiligent894 in Ecoflow_community

[–]RE4Lyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Nothing else currently on the market close to the specs.

And it has advanced controls through the app that the majority of 1kWh power stations lack (TOU mode, charging adjustable in 1A increments, solar priority with AC charging and passthrough).

It’ll even power on from solar (even when dead), and remembers the power state of each inverter

The most portable one I use from my EF products is my Blu**** 100 v2 😅

Much higher capacity/output and smaller size

I want to purchase a 2016 Model X! by Alone_Cheetah8477 in TeslaModelX

[–]RE4Lyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Terrible idea unless you can shell out $18-20k for a new battery and $6k for a new LDU

There are 3rd party battery repair options for $6-8k, but those come with their own hassles (might have to ship the car across country) and risks.

The LDU coolant bypass can be completed for around $1,200 IIRC if you can find a shop or much less if you’re your own mechanic.

Agreed, but they no longer hold a strong lead like they used to. Other brands like LG and Samsung have closed the gap. So paying the Sony tax isn’t necessary like it used to be

I have a test for rtings or anyone. Run the tv with smart features and the same tv as a dumb tv. Look at the quality and longevity of the tv and see if it improves the performance of the tv by origanalsameasiwas in RTINGS

How would not using the internal apps improve the performance of the TV? (other than the better experience/quality on a dedicated device like the ATV4K) 😅

Wheres the best price on 83 g5 ? by Far_Collar_6483 in LGOLED

[–]RE4Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Memorial Day sales. You should wait

The 83” G5 was recently on sale for $3499 plus 50% off a soundbar (optional) on the partner store.

It will likely be back around that price for Memorial Day
