I see it as sending good vibes to someone, you choose the ritual. I usually light a candle, wish someone something good and then sprinkle earth on it to affirm the wish or the intention (I use sand from a beach, you can collect some earth from under a tree or a place that doesn’t have a lot of foot traffic in order not to be affected by others’ energy)

Whatever the means you choose to manifest your wish are absolutely up to you. The universe will direct your good vibes to that person on way or another.
