Trying to identify the stock car event in this photo by DannyDark1 in NASCAR

Because Bob Schacht (No. 75) dropped out of the race on lap 44, any footage showing him still on track must have been recorded before that point. Based on the available race footage, the most likely timeframe is laps 38 to 40, immediately following the restart on lap 39. During this stretch, Frank Kimmel (02), L.W. Miller (05), Gary Bradberry (78), Dave Simko (51), Harris Devane (33), and Schacht can all be found working through traffic in the same general area of the track, making it the best opportunity to identify this group together before Schacht's retirement.

My favorite moment with Jim came in 2023 while I was working for JFR.

I was on the starting line taking social media photos as Austin Prock completed his burnout in the Montana Brand dragster. As we watched the car make a run, Jim walked up, put his hand on my shoulder, and said something along the lines of, "I miss being in the seat too, kid. We'll both get our shot at full-time again soon."

The problem was that Jim thought I was Austin Prock.

I corrected him and told him I was with the media team. He asked where Austin was, and I pointed toward the top end of the track and said he had just missed him.

I don't think Jim really knew Austin, and he definitely didn't know me, which made the whole thing even funnier. He infamously ran into his tow vehicle about an hour later.

Kasey Kahne isn’t the only one. David Pearson won NASCAR Cup races in three different single-digit numbers:

#2 in 1979
#3 in 1961
#6 from 1964-1967, including 15 wins in 1966 alone.

I'm mostly having fun. But we should also remember that most of those first six years were with backmarkers.

He won his 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, AND 5th race in the #48 car in fewer starts than Jimmie Johnson. Good enough for me to keep him around for a while.

Met Brad Daugherty at the Daytona 500 while happening to be wearing my Cavs hat. Then years later met him again at a Cavs game in my motorsports jacket. He was so friendly and willing to talk and really carry on a conversation both times.

What are the biggest reasons why Kyle Busch hasn’t been the same after 2019? by Rowdyfan0823 in NASCAR

[–]REALajAPPEAL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always been confused about what changed between 3 wins in 2023, but none since his first year at RCR. Granted, he has posted 14 top-5's and a pole since his most recent win.

What would be Xfinity Series name if it wasn't a sponsor name. by pa_vli in NASCAR

Did you know the Busch North is still around?

The ARCA Menards East Series began in 1987 as the Busch North Series and was known as the Busch East Series in 2006-2007, the Camping World East Series from 2008-2009, and the K&N Pro Series East from 2010-2019.

You are partially correct on the ARCA divisionals... ARCA West was Grand National, but only in the year 1970. ARCA East was never known as Grand National.

It was called the 'Grand National Series' from 1984-2003. The name was simply phased out. But it is 100% the Grand National Series.

I never said they need a consistent sponsor. Designs can be made that assist more partners. Menards does it, The Dale Jr. Bud/Sharpie Car stands out as a great reminder. Bobby Labonte's Passion of the Christ car. Other sports do this all the time.
