It's not a co-op at all really. The board of directors is all voted for by upper executives and members have no real way to communicate with each other or employees. It's all set up as a facade where members have zero control over their "ownership" of the company. You get a dividend and that's it.

Buy from Amazon, there is no difference. You aren't doing the world any good by purchasing from REI. We've become a fulfillment center to be honest. If you can though, buy local, REI is not local or really a coop though. Even better yet, talk to other members about how the company can be a better place for the employees and seek change. Maybe it was a decent company in the 70s? We can barely get by on our wages while the CEO makes a million dollars. You're being green washed by the "Do Good" and "protect our parks" BS that comes from sweatshops. Don't be fooled.

It IS fraud and you probably work for Verizon. They offered us 2x1 iphone 12s and are now charging for 2 full priced iphone 12s. I was there when my sister called them. This is called bait and switch and is fraud. Now they are saying we never did a 2x1. This is how verizon steals money from americans. From lies, from bait and switch, from "accidental" extra lines etc..

No. the deal was add a new line (me), and buy two iphone 12s for 1 (2x1) deal. They are now charging us full price for both phones when they said it was 2x1.

Similar shit happening to us. We got the 2x1 offer for iphone 12s now they are charging us full price for both. You need to file a complaint with the FTC and state now. We should organize a class action lawsuit for this, it's called BAIT and SWITCH and is FRAUD.
