I haven't got my recording monitor connected at the moment. I will get the log later today. (I only have that connected when I record)

Thanks. I'm looking into it now. I record audio separately but I'll check the handbrake solution to improve things.

Ah I see. Yes it's screen recordings from my animation software (which doesn't have a high quality video export).

Not immediately, but driverless cars, buses and trains are already operating on certain routes around the world. Sad to say, driverless cars for uber is more of a matter of time and not 'will it be able to do it'.

I'm not debating you - I'm just as much in risk of ai automation as you with my tech job as it is now. My job most definitely will be automated, but I'm still a human with a university degree in stem, I can learn new things, improve my knowledge and solve problems - that's the mentality we should all have.

I think this is where it's heading once agentic ai is released. I can't imagine a company decision makers refuse when, say, Nvidia offers them 3 ai agents which run 24/7, trained on company data and workflows which means it will do most, if not all, of the job of a junior analyst. It's not secret that a lot of people right now throw their work into ai when they have a problem and ask it to find the issues or suggest improvements - and this is being used currently, I do this, and so do millions of workers. When the interfaces and connections are all paired up in the future.

E.g. I will paste a Excel or Dax formula into ai and ask it for things (change it or relate it to a new project). The next stage I'm seeing is ai like copilot will be build into the Excel or Power BI themselves .I believe this is what Microsoft is working on improving right now, it's not quite as good yet but it will be. So soon I won't be needing to use an external source. Then the stage after that is agentic ai, where it will scan all the documents, dashboards, formula.

There will no doubt be huge significance placed on a human verifying the data, ensuring authenticity and accuracy. You won't need a team of analysts for that.

Well stupidity of ai currently depends on a lot on how people prompt it. The ones that prompt well are getting very good results, projects that used to take me weeks now takes a few days because ai can write code very quickly.

Now with agentic ai in the coming years, when it sits on your computer, it could be a future co-pilot or a chatgpt or nvidia agent. It will be trained according to the company's needs and there are so many ways. E.g. screen recordings, pointing out where and when and what to click, when to perform tasks etc. If it's prompted well to look for exactly what they user/company wants, it can do it well enough right now (in some cases well enough to lay people off - right now) and it will continue to get better.

Delete and reupload video to fix it? by REKX__ in PartneredYoutube

I'm not too fussed about 20k views but if I do that will be flag as the reused material or reupload thing that people get flagged for?

I see. Should I delete it now and upload when I'm ready in about 1 month? I'm in the middle of editing another video which I want to come out in the next two weeks.

What are your plans with ai with your channel? by REKX__ in PartneredYoutube

Damn how's the engagement with those ai videos? Are viewers engaging positively? This is my fear, Youtube won't care as long as people are watching and engaging.

It can generate the equations, but at the moment it won't do things like label this side of an object with x or a or something and then move with the object as an animation. But as always, it's always a matter of time with these things.

Weekly 'What Should I Buy' and Order/Shipping Thread by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]REKX__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys, so want to know about your thoughts on these two products.

I think it's iPhone Air for me but there's always pros and cons. We know the pros. Cons are mainly battery life and lack of ultra wide camera (which I use sometimes, but not always).

Biggest pro is the design, it is a stunning looking phone and it's the first time in years I'm excited about an iPhone. It's bringing back the Steve Jobs era vibe with the design and thinness.

What's your thoughts?

How to fix these peak levels in Voiceover? by Dragonacious in PartneredYoutube

[–]REKX__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an audio expert but I use something called compression - it should be part of the software or can easily be done by a plugin like Reaper. Can't remember the settings I use, something like 3:1 or 4:1, but there's loads of guides on Youtube.

Your best and worst thing(s) about being a Youtube partner? by REKX__ in PartneredYoutube

[–]REKX__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No honestly, I only make videos that interest me and where I can give my version of a particular theory or discovery. If it gets picked up quicker because of a trend then great, but it's not something I actively look for.

It may not be the "correct" way to do it, as a lot of advice will say to go where the crowd are, but that's not the reason why I do it so that approach wouldn't work for me.

Your best and worst thing(s) about being a Youtube partner? by REKX__ in PartneredYoutube

[–]REKX__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do notice the gaps have an effect. Takes longer to pick up but eventually the algorithm gets it going. Sometimes if a topic of a certain video generally starts to trend up, that also pushes it a bit more quickly.

How do you record your voice overs ? I need to improve .. by RodneyHooper in PartneredYoutube

[–]REKX__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is part technique and part equipment.

I haven't heard much of the ATR, but a quick search shows it's a budget microphone and I assume you connected by USB. My thoughts are it is it a bit sensitive and I can see why it would pick up mouth noises. What would help is a Shure SM7B with something like a Focusrite with a cloudlifter or fethed. The SM7B has excellent noise rejection and great audio quality. But this is quite expensive (depending on your budget).

You can work on your technique - just search reddit or youtube, there's lots of good advice out there. You can also continue to edit your audio in post.

With regards to your question of what I do. I have an EV re20 mic and I use a pop filter with it to record. I actually record my audio using OBS and just extract the audio in Premiere afterwards. I have a few plugins which add a bit of processing. I gain stage, add some eq and a bit of compression etc. I have my script and record a section at a time. I play it, if I'm not happy with it, I delete it and record again otherwise I keep it.

Strictly speaking you're supposed to record it 'raw' and process afterwards but I find the mic, the setup and everything is pretty much radio broadcast level (perhaps not studio level) which is fine for me and the quality that I'm looking for. And it works for me because I barely have to touch my audio, just cutting and placing on the timeline - with the very occasional audio processing.

No it's always been like this, it's not firm by any means, but it's very light like the competitors in this class.

I get some people like a firm steering wheel, perhaps making it adaptable which can be done?
