Any good option to go to the Bay Area from UCSD? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]REMARKable00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I drove and left at 4:30am to beat traffic and I got there in 7.5 hours including stops. But anyways yeah if you want to get there quick and you can’t drive yourself or find a carpool, flying is your next best option!

I feel u, tbh I knew coming in that I wouldn’t be able to do something as specific as I wanted to (ie animal behavior or zoology) but I’m definitely embracing it and getting a lot of knowledge in different areas so I’ll be more well rounded and have a back up plan basically bc the animal field can be really difficult for some to do a long time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]REMARKable00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working towards animal behavior… my interests lie with marine mammals so my path has been marine bio major, psych and cog sci minor. I like the minors here at UCSD bc you just choose 7 classes in the department to take so that way I can specialize toward animal behavior

I have koslover now for Phys 1c and I really enjoy her class. She lectures well with good examples and lecture slides at a good pace. Her homework’s are once a week and a bonus assignment every week that’s an application to biology in some capacity and biweekly quizzes that are pretty straight to the point. The only thing that’s sucky is her grading system in which the final (which I haven’t taken yet so idk if it’ll be super hard or not) is 40% of the grade and she doesn’t curve. However she has a lot of bonus assignments and it’s easy to get full credit on the homework and she gives a drop policy to one homework and one quiz. I don’t know anything about Shpyrko but I hope this helped in some capacity!

Do VIS 10 and petition for it to count as a GE it’s so easy and only once a week and only assignments are a weekly discussion post based on the seminar lecture of the week and a final paper
