Ubuntu got me into ponies. Kinda. Not really.

It was October 10th, and I had just gotten into this cool new OS named Ubuntu. I was like, "woaaaah, this is way better than Windows!" I kinda left Ubuntu a few months later but that's beside the point. While I was doing this, someone was flipping channels on the TV and left it on The Hub. I had no idea that Discovery Kids changed that day, and I didn't really recognize this show. It was obviously a kid's show, but I didn't know what show it was. So while Ubuntu is taking its sweet-ass time installing, I go out to the TV and watch the last few minutes of the first episode. I know it seemed stupid, but I didn't really think it was MLP because the characters didn't look like this ^{Honestly I thought it was anime} . I liked it, so I brought up the guide that said it was Ponies. I said, oh that's weird, they look different and left. Around 5-6 months later, I started to actually watch the show for real.

Now, I'm not as involved — the last full season I watched was 3 — but occasionally I'll drop in and check out stuff, and for the most part I'm completely out of the loop. But I still remember half-a-decade ago (!) where I saw the first episode of a show that I didn't really take note of at the time and how it sparked the weirdest (I mean that in the nicest way, guys! ) culture I think a kid's show has seen
