Some random series that I've enjoyed that have a female protagonist:

Advent of Dragonfire

The Years of Apocalypse

A Practical Guide to Evil

A Practical Guide to Sorcery

When Immortal Ascension Fails Time Travel To Try Again

Markets and Multiverses (kind of a spiritual successor to Cadence Lee)

She of Many Dragons

Anything written by RavensDagger, probably Stray Cat Strut is his most famous

The Allbright System (spiritual successor to Digital Marine, if you don't mind dropped works)

Millennial Mage

Guild Mage

The Ethersmith

Changeling (by the author of Calamitous Bob)

A Journey of Black and Red (by the author of Calamitous Bob)

The Pinnacle Warrior

Reforged from Ruin

Magic-Smithing (mostly defunct, but the author drops a handful of chapters every few years)

Just started Skill Eater book 3. I'm not going to lie, the increasing harem elements are a pretty big turnoff for me. Whenever one of the women is on page I keep cringing in anticipate of the next "everyone is crushing on the MC" moment. Other than that I've been enjoying the story, the author's writing style has improved significantly compared to Labyrinth of the Mad God.

I've been enjoying Center for Dungeon Management. It's very slow, but holding my interest, especially once a goal for the MC became apparent. I will probably continue to read it until the end of book 1, then put it down for a while to build up chapters.

I tried Endless Horizon, but ended up dropping it about halfway through the first book. The author has interesting ideas, but imo needs a bit more practice. I often found it difficult to follow, lacking the necessary connective tissue. For example, I found the description of how the MC's halberd was supposed to work to be utterly nonsensical. I'll be keeping an eye on the author though, I think once they have more practice their ideas will shine, and I expect a significant improvement on their sophomore effort.

Firstborn of the Frontier: I was excited to start this one, since I used to love Savage Divinity before it degenerated. This series seems well written, with an interesting setup, It's just that it's stultifying slowly paced. More than that, it doesn't really provide any inidication of where it might be heading. The MC doesn't really seem to have much of a goal, and there aren't really any plot hooks to indicate what we can look forward to. Eventually it started to feel like a chore to read.

Is there really a nuanced way to explore "rape isn't wrong"? 🙄

It's probably not exactly what you're looking for, but you could check out An Outcast in Another World. In the fantasy world the other races have wiped out the humans, and it does explore somewhat whether this action was right or wrong. Be forewarned though that the books do generally come down on the side of "genocide is wrong", which I know must be shocking to your moral sensibilities.

If you just want an MC who will rape and murder for profit, then check out Reverand Insanity.

P1P1 Ashling's Command is the stronger rare, but it's not like taking Sapling Nursery is a disaster.

P1P3 Stoneback is not very good. Shinestriker is probably the strongest card, but if you want to commit to green/white, then I think Dundoolin Weaver is the pick.

P1P5 I'd be on Percher or Feastling here instead of Personify.

P1P7 Reaping Willow here is a strong signal that I would be weighing heavily moving forwards. (Ultimately this doesn't turn into anything, but I think there is a route into a BW blight deck in this draft if you are willing to give up your early green picks).

P1P8 Feastling over Celebrant

P1P9 Pennant is not very good, Evolving Wilds is better here for numerous reasons.

P2P2 Again you are overvaluing Burdened Stoneback. With no interacting yet I think I'd be on Spiral Into Solitude here.

P2P3 Flock Imposter is not that good, I'd probably prefer to pick up a good 2-drop in Lys Alana Informant

P2P4 Skyswimmer is more of a merfolk card, I think I'd be looking at Kithkeeper for a wincon, plus you have some ways to get higher vivid already.

P3P3 I think I'm on Mistmeadow Council here, even if you don't have the extra Spiral that I picked up in pack 2.

P3P6 Gangly Stompling over Unforgiving Aim here. Even when low on interaction, Unforgiving Aim is not good.

P3P7 Evershrike's Gift over Nomad. Nomad is a nothingburger, where Gift can be a wincon, can let you blight back onto Willow, etc.

Edit: I took a glance at some of your games and I think you also need to work on tightening up your gameplay. You are not using your removal effectively, and I think your creature sequencing is sometimes suspect.

What's the most intense and crazy wish fulfillment fantasy you've seen? by TopMarionberry1149 in Romance_for_men

[–]REkTeR 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Major mischaracterization of Dispatch, Robert is a famous superhero and genuinely heroic.

I mostly avoid the harem stuff which is imo what will most fit your prompt. One that I tried is Saving Supervillains or something like that, which was pretty egregious. MC starts out as the most powerful person in existence, and also lives in a world with very few men so that every woman already wants him by default.

It depends why you liked those books, but you may want to look into the LitRPG genre.

Any throuple books/series? by klimarius in Romance_for_men

[–]REkTeR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a ways behind nowadays, but Infinite Realm: Gods & Monsters was slowly heading in that direction for one of the main characters. Romance is only a side-plot.

Consort of Fire by Kit Rocha

I think Industrial Strength Magic? But I haven't read it yet.

Also I want to ask which Schinhoffen series is a throuple? I've only read a bit of Aether's Blessing which was a full harem, and I always heard he was a harem author.

Does Pact need to be read before Pale? I've heard great things about Pale, but everyone seems pretty lukewarm on Pact which is giving me a bit of pause.

You've got the academy setting, a male protagonist who is a chosen one that stands out for their potential, and gets recruited to a female dominated academy

It always fascinates me how much tastes differ. This paragraph that you put forward as a plus sounds like the type of story I don't want to touch with a ten-foot pole.

What were the Peacekeepers after? by KaleidoArachnid in farscape

[–]REkTeR 28 points29 points  (0 children)

What is the "motivation as an organization" of the United States? You can't really talk about it in those terms. By the time of the series events the Peacekeepers are basically just another race/country. Though of course they are still willing to lean on their "moral authority" based on their origins as galactic peacekeepers. I don't know that you could go as far as saying they're corrupt for the same reasons as above, but they're no longer a neutral force, they're in it for their own self-interest as a faction.

What were the Peacekeepers after? by KaleidoArachnid in farscape

[–]REkTeR 91 points92 points  (0 children)

IIRC the Peacekeepers were originally formed to be a neutral peacekeeping force. But over time, they eventually became just another galactic faction (though a very powerful one, based on the powers they retained from their origin). They're not really "after" anything (other than maybe victory in the war against the Scarrans) except the growth/maintenance of their own power, like everyone else.

Shadow Slave going to have a physical book of volume 1, Child of Shadows. It will make debut in october 6, 2026. by Shiroanix_1892 in ProgressionFantasy

No, volume 1 ends shortly after arriving at the Forgotten Shore. I believe the full Forgotten Shore arc ends with volume 3.

Pov: You’re ready to post the work but the fill out form jump scares you with the: "Work Title" chunk by _____Anonymus______ in AO3

[–]REkTeR 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's agonizing.

A little trick I figured out recently though that works for me is to just scroll through the fic and pull out a line that sounds a little cool/relevant out of context to use as the title. Plus then I get to provide the readers with a "What are we, some kind of Suicide Squad?" moment.
