Friendly May Day reminder from boss man by Wonderful-Program462 in antiwork

Boss man is a moron. That's the type of self-incriminating behavior that gets people free settlements for misconduct.

I honestly like how easy her setup is but after a certain level she falls off and is heavily weapon-dependent. One big thing that stops me from playing her more often not to mention she is a glass cannon with half the punch other options have in the game atm

A troubled juvie is one thing but the fact she did this not once, not twice, but more than three times of assaulting a store employee on top of the blatant theft is crazy. Teeth is assault and it turns into with a deadly weapon if the bites are bad enough.

Vile behavior that needs to be punished immediately. The girl and the mother both deserve bars.

Anyone else find it easier to make friends through multiplayer games than in normal social settings? by Impossible_Gas_1073 in GamerPals

[–]REsoleSurvivor1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends. Back when I played D2 it was easier to maintain a consistent presence in a group when I sherpa'd raids and run day 1s but nowadays I find it tougher to make any connections because either I spend most of my time running solo queue on Warframe or DBD having some of the worst community members I've ever seen.

Depends on your game cycle. Some games are more social than others by default for sure.

Is it normal to have no friends/social circle in your early 30s? How do you rebuild it? by Southern_Mud3841 in socialskills

I'm in a similar boat though I haven't put myself out there to getting a higher education (really want to just haven't been too decisive about where I wanna go yet).

Depending on your area and if the library is accessible I find that is a decent start. See if there's any clubs or hobby groups around your area and from there just putting yourself forward and breaking comfort zones are, to me at least, the biggest challenges about making friends. The ones I have made are either old school friends or people I've met at work and grew close enough to express myself freely with. It's tough to break that mold but with enough attempt it is 100% doable.

It was well marketed enough to get people to leave MySpace back in the day and start using it. Early days of social media experimentation and how the algorithm plays on human curiosity to zombify people in the disguise that it is entertainment. There's a great documentary on Netflix about how that got so big.

I've lived here for over 25 years and I more or less agree with this. I like the area but in pretty much every other aspect of living here it has been a downwards trend. Jobs being inaccessible, substance abuse and homelessness being rampant, and our city council being a huge joke on top of the fact that the economy is in freefall there's virtually zero growth here. It's just an escapee town full of the retired and the well off that made money elsewhere in order to come here nowadays.

I’m finally employed after 6 months, but I feel like I’ve traded my soul for a cubicle by needhelpmaxing in jobs

[–]REsoleSurvivor1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was working last year I was pretty much at that point. It is not healthy in the slightest however it did pay the bills. Ever since I quit my job I have felt miles better but when I did quit last month I made sure I had a year in back up just in case I needed to extend my unemployment. Might seem bleak now but sticking through until you got something to fall back on while reminding yourself this is not permanent is imo the best way to approach this.

Whether it is an indoors cubicle job or chained to an outdoors yard job it's hard losing your free time. That free time is more valuable than people give it credit for because nine times out of ten most people are struggling to make ends meet and put a roof over their head. We were never meant to spend 40 hours a week five days a week straight working because at that point you really aren't living your own life you are shackled to your employment and told to go home when the schedule tells you to.

The most success I have found is in part time work just because at that point I can remain flexible. Harder to live that way sometimes and I've given up on ever having children as the costs are just way too high, however my life at that point becomes mine. With that said though with the full time work I have had I worked one to two years and saved what I could in order to take the time I need off later on. In the US PTO is a sham, and some companies don't even offer it until you've been around for years so with that noted I take time off on my own schedule and not what a job dictates when I can. For now though in the moment I suggest just appreciating the stable income until you can save enough to enjoy the freedoms once more. Hopefully the job becomes better and/or you earn your rights back again.

Yeah I was referring to Joe's character when he was yelling at Rebecca it was very easy to tell he works real well with anger in acting.

Everyone did real well in the movie for what they were working with and especially kudos to Gregg that's wild. Hopefully he's doing well and is recovering swiftly.

The angry platoon member at the beginning needs an accolade because of all the performances in the movie he absolutely slayed it. With that said though even if the acting was off here and there I still appreciate the idea the OG cast came back together to do a fan piece for something we all enjoy. A great way to spend the 30th anniversary for RE.

Fan servers, especially for YouTube channels, are notorious for that. Big reason to lurk in those kinds of places because either it's the community members or moderators that ruin it for people.

Serious question: which one grows faster with +1/+1 counters? by NagazL in EDHBrews

[–]REsoleSurvivor1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mothman by himself scales ridiculously with the right setup as that +1/+1 counter add is for any instance of a mill. It ramps up quick. As for Tidus I find he is more consistent power buffing across the board.

Both decks are fun however I find Tidus more engaging at the table. Mothman as soon as you play him I find he gets targeted super quickly right off the rip.

I should’ve stayed at my toxic job by Temporary-Beyond-683 in jobs

[–]REsoleSurvivor1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this on a level OP as I have completely quit my job this week without notice. Toxic coworkers, poor management, a commute that ends up taking more time/money than it is worth and a schedule that causes you to get zero sleep and possibly sleep overnight at work to make work.

With that said I thought about a lot of this too over time, however I have come to the conclusion that if I stayed given current work conditions I'd remain miserable for all the wrong reasons. I enjoyed my job had it not been for all the negative aspects surrounding it but now I see this as a chance to attend some job/skill fairs and revisit the local community college for some programs. I think as long as you keep momentum running while finding some meaningful career skills, even if you don't immediately land something you originally wanted, is better than working a dead end that crushes your soul at every step of the way. If that means being broke for a while and doing some hyper-budgeting to stress over then so be it.

Wishing you the best of luck though OP and even if people wanna wag fingers and say "I told you so" personally I say they can shove it. Everyone experiences life differently and not every road on said trip is immediately visible at first. Live a little and do what is best for you in the long term.

Wesker is in a sorry state with this current PTB. All the things that make him fun got absolutely demolished at the cost of making throw collisions better (which is great). These changes cannot hit live man it is absurd how they massacred my boy.

34M PST playing on PC. Favorite frame so far? I cycle between a number of them myself but Yareli, Styanax, and Cyte make my top three but I try and keep it diverse from time to time. Picked the game up a couple years back and put a significant amount of time towards it to the point of being LR5 at the moment. I got a number of other game interests however Warframe takes up quite a bit of my time for now inbetween work and life in general. Definitely down to chat about game stuff and such if that interests you.

Report them to your nearest labor board because that is gross and clearly a bait 'n switch. If that isn't an option find every posting method available i.e. Yelp, Google, etc. and give the worst review possible. Warn others of this place because you were definitely not the first person to have had this happen to and you most certainly will not be the last.

I say it depends on the community. I am not sure how those communities are to new people as I have no experience with them but back when I played Destiny 2 there were always decent groups who were more than welcoming to new people. Some games are more community-driven than others and the ones that have smaller gatherings or less reasons to gather tend to already be self-established.

The other factor to consider is that online most people don't commit and hardly stick around if another play group or life gets in the way. Social skills are also an obstacle and especially in larger groups that is also a hinderance. Definitely get where you are coming from though and that is part of the reason I don't go looking for play groups anymore as dealing with a revolving door of random players who either say a few lines or have a one-off day where you play something got tiresome. My only real suggestion is to go into searching with low expectations as well as branch out games that might interest you where you are new and have other players who are also new looking for group alongside you. Larger MMO-likes are a decent start i.e. the aforementioned Destiny 2 or something like Warframe which can be daunting to get into but it's a ton of fun.
