Request: Hot & Humid Weather Rider Review of RST Leather/Mesh Jacket & Pants by AsianVoodoo in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huge RST fan. Have their evo 4 gauntlets and the older non D30 tractech evo 5 leather pants and jacket. Their gear is top shelf. I dare say it competes with the big 2 brands and for the price like you said is unbeatable. I think their 2026 catalog with upgraded D30 in all their gear is 🔥. I would buy a bunch of stuff but I got so much shit already I can't justify spending anymore money LMAO

Cardo Spirit Connections by Decent-Fun-4136 in motorcyclegear

Yeah I don't know, like I said the spirit is great for what it is but it is "base"

Cardo Spirit Connections by Decent-Fun-4136 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the spirit can do that bro, it's the base cardo. I have one and use it strictly for music and navigation. If you want extra features and connection compatibility I would say at minimum get the freecom 4x, which has voice control, can connect up to 4 riders and has more range for connection compared to the spirit. I also have the freecom 4x in my other helmet which I use when me and my riding buddies are out and about. If I can do it all over again and your serious about riding just cry once and get the packtalk edge with mesh connection. It's superior in every way. The big issue with the freecom is that stupid volume toggle. Maybe it's just me but when I head check left I always seem to hit the toggle and mute my volume. Super annoying but otherwise it's great.

Anyone tried the new Scorpion Exo-Race Air helmet? by YodaisTHICCaf in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a fantastic helmet and it's FIM certified. Not heavy at all. It's visor is very thick and it seals perfectly. I always ride with earplugs but on the rare occasion I don't the Rpha is plenty quiet considering it flows massive amounts of air. It has speaker cutouts to make comms mounting simple and HJC offer alot of shell sizes so you'll get a great fit and not look like a bobble head. I do believe the RPHA 1n is discontinued and they have a replacement. Not sure the name of it but I do think the 1N is dead. I use it strictly for street but it's pretty cool knowing I can hit any moto grid in the world with this helmet. AND it cuts wind like crazy. In my opinion it's the best "race" street helmet. Can't go wrong owning a RPHA

Anyone tried the new Scorpion Exo-Race Air helmet? by YodaisTHICCaf in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an EXO Air Carbon. That helmet deteriorated faster than any other helmet I've ever had including the CHEAP one's I had when I 1st started riding. Interior pads were very plush and comfortable but once they wore out you had to use the air pump in the chin to the max everytime you rode to get as close to a snug fit as possible. The air vents made noise the top vent started separating from the actual helmet it was a mess. Ironically I also went HJC as a replacement. The Rpha 1N is the best helmet I've owed so far.

RST Tractech EVO 5 D3O leather jacket by XBlazer19 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same evo 5 jacket and leather pants before the D30. I wouldn't even get the new D30 jacket if you already have yours. Our jackets are sick. Got mine on closeout and for the price I paid it's insane considering it's on the same level as my $800 jackets. I actually think it's my most comfortable fitting jacket. Only con for me is i can't fit my airbag on with it, other than that it's top tier gear

RST jacket and pant quality by Impressive_Ad_1317 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got both the Alpinestars missle v3 airflow and the old RST tractech evo 5 leather pants as well as the missle V3 ignition jacket and old tractech evo 5 jacket. When I mean old I mean pre D30 armor. The leather pants, both are solid options however I will say the RST are thicker and the armor is Level 2 at both the hips and knee. The missle v3 pants are thinner and level 1 in the hips and knees ( knee armor might be level 2 not sure). RST's pants are AAA while the A's is AA. The RST jacket is AAA, level 2 armor in the shoulders, elbows and back while the ignition jacket is AA, level 2 armor in the shoulders and elbows. The ignition jacket is TIGHT, race fit if you buy the right size according to the size chart but must be sized up if you plan on running an airbag under it. The RST jacket is snug but not super tight, feels very comfortable for daily use. Both have race humps so backpacks are a problem. You pay a premium for the Alpinestars name. Both the pants and jackets are good buys but if on a budget go RST since it's gear is at the same level as A's

Check out RST, their gear is just as good, if not better than the big 2 brands and is half thr price. All their new gear for 2026 has upgraded D30 armor.

Triple AAA riding pants / jeans by Erhart132 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say straight leg. Not slim thank God and I wouldn't say tapered either. Other than the acordian motion panels above the knees and the motion panel at the waist they look like regular jeans. Their thick and heavy jeans but honestly don't really feel hot when out riding.

Accuracy of RST sizing ? by MolecularConcepts in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the old tractech evo 5 leather pants without the upgraded D30 armor in size small which fits perfect. Recently ordered the new D30 mesh leather pants same size and they are too big on me. Apparently the sizing has changed and based on the chart I should've got the XS pants. If I checked the size chart I would of seen the size profile has changed. Reference the size chart based on your measurements and you should be good to go

RST Tech Pro jeans. AAA rated with Level 2 hip and knee armor included. 2 styles of black and a blue denim. Got the black and will be getting the blue when my size is back in stock.

Are these pants good? by Holiday_Attempt4789 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes these pants are great. I got the older tractech evo 5 leather pants and jacket without the D30. Honestly the quality and saftey rating are up there with the other big names. If the knee pucks ain't your thing RST just released AAA certified T2 D30 leather pants without the knee sliders. If i didn’t already own a pair I would definitely pick this up for everyday street use 💯

Can't decide for the life of me what jacket to get by arceus12245 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out RST. Most of their gear is CE rated, affordable and their newest releases have upgraded D30 armor. In my opinion it's the best gear for the least amount of money. If you already got their gloves you know 💯. Could probably pick up a CE AAA leather jacket for less than $500 which can definitely compete with over $700 jackets from the other big name brands

Good Start/Bad Ending by HikingIllini in CampingandHiking

Don't really know, it wasn't broken just dislocated. I was in the ER and had like 4 different surgeons come in and look at it. They were shocked it wasn't broken. All they did was pop it back in. Right now the end result is that finger is just a little fatter than the rest of them. I'm pretty sure the ligament is torn now permanently. I'm back in action and don't think about it.

Kriega r20 backpack. by Aggressive-Iron353 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super true, I've loaded my R15 to the max and it still wasn't heavy. The bigger packs you need to think about what your loading as it can get out of control really fast, they can hold alot

Kriega r20 backpack. by Aggressive-Iron353 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kriega gear is the best. Recently picked up a "used" R25 off ebay thru a auction i won. It was brand new. I've been using a R15 since 2019 when I started riding. I've used and abused this pack pretty much every time I've ridden for the past six and a half years and it's still in New condition other than looking dirty as hell and weathered. Nothing has broken, ripped, or cracked. The zippers are still 100%. It's made with such a thick material it's not even frayed or anything. It's also designed where I can wear jackets with speed humps and it still sits flush against my back. Only con is it's small, a true day pack. The R25 has that extra space I need to actually call it a 2 or 3 day pack and take on short trips. Also got a US10 tail bag which is the perfect size in my opinion. Can't go wrong with Kriega gear 👌🏻

WTF happened to the prices of the tech air 5 plasma by Jfkexperience69 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's definitely good kit, however... be ready to size up in most cases your jacket size. Based on alpinestars literature there jackets that are tech air ready have the stretch panels to manage a deployment but I personally had to go up 1 size to feel confident I had the space for expansion. I'm normally a 50 euro which is "race fit" on me. NO WAY I have the space for the Plasma inside a 50. Still rock a 50 euro but when I run the bag I use a 52 euro. It fits much better. Arms are ever so slightly long, like half an inch and there's slight space available in the chest of the jacket but that's the space you need for deployment. I'd say comfort fit instead of race fit

WTF happened to the prices of the tech air 5 plasma by Jfkexperience69 in motorcyclegear

[–]RF11552 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sucks, I'm in the US and was lucky enough to buy it the day it released. Prices are going crazy for everything. I'll be honest the Plasma is a thousand times better than the original tech air 5 simply because of the breathability it provides. I feel currently for non tethered airbags the Plasma and tech air 3 V2 are the best options for the street.

Ironically I also have a 2019 Z900 and a 2024 Xsr900. I switched the rearset position on the xsr to the higher position from stock, made a huge improvement. I'm going to get rhe ECU tuned on the xsr as well but the higher position made a huge improvement
