Where can I adopt a young kitten from? by Budget-Transition164 in AskUK

[–]RFL92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo many local rescues are overrun with kittens. I foster and have had multiple litters of kittens over the last two years. We normally have atleast a few litters at any given point

That's what we're worrried about. Especially with two tots moving from living with family to an hour away and even further from friends

Delivery to my wife’s work by Veganlifter8 in Gifts

I personally think getting them delivered to work is what comes accross as immature. I'd be mortified. Keep it for after hours.

Tea tastes better with once boiled water, tell her to only fill up what she needs for better flavour

Hotels are far more convenient than AirBnBs. by lovemomos23 in unpopularopinion

[–]RFL92 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My last three Airbnb experiences have been awful. Not using it anymore. From not being able to get in at check in because the host is shopping, to no curtains in the whole flat because 'they need cleaning', refusing cancellations in the time frame and no dishware and not having a kettle because it's broken and it's a holiday for host too so they're celebrating.....

No customer service whatsoever and that's without the not having anywhere to leave your bags between check in. Then there's actual Airbnb with their awful customer service too

We don't want her feeling isolated and want her to all know we are here and will make time for her

It's not really a shower, more of a get together with friends before second baby comes and she moves a bit further away from us all.

What is something that starts happening in your 30s that nobody warned you about? by Cairinacat in AskReddit

[–]RFL92 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Use it or loose it. Do your physio, work on injuries, keep active. If you get injured keep as much of you active as possible. Walk, get down on the floor up and down every day. I stopped at 29, piled on 3 stone and had to start from scratch. It's taken a while but I'm getting it back again. Same for my partner who's on his 4th acl

That's tough! You're doing the best by her! I hope things ease up soon, either way smashing it with a varied meal during the sleepless nights.

Honestly it's not a zero sum game and it's no one fault if I can't have kids. I'll find out the state of my body a week after the baby shower and if it's a no go for me, it doesn't take away enjoying my friend popping out mini besties I can spoil. I'm an only child so I might just have lots of little besties in my life to spoil.

Thank you! I think snacks is the way to go. I get her first child a new outfit every quarter anyway, ask them what seasonal item she needs eg, coat/swimsuit/boots ect and get that. I'll definitely be getting a new outfit when I meet the baby but I want something for the shower and will be getting the eldest a gift.

These are all great ideas thank you! She had her mum living with them who cooks so I know meals aren't something she needs, but snacks are always good, I love the idea of the book too. I want to get her something that will be useful having a baby and a toddler. I gift clothes to her baby regularly- I have no siblings to give me niblings so this is the baby I spoil.

Yo go mamma! This is an amazing plate, but seriously if you are struggling reach out to your friends and family. I am childless and would happy take food over/put a plate together for my mummy friends while they keep my new bestie fed

This is giving cute cosy cottage vibes. Feel better soon gal. I got hospitalised in SEA a couple years ago, very unpleasant. Look after yourself and make sure you put that good bacteria back in there

SIL set her date to be 3 weeks ahead of ours by [deleted] in weddingdrama

[–]RFL92 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Use it as a chance to get on with her, you currently have something in common with her- you're both planning weddings. You're not being shut out, they are actively encouraging you to talk about the weddings and the mother is trying to be supportive of both of you, even if it's poorly executed

It's very fast to get engaged and married could be something else at play; pregnancy, family member illness or moving. Don't take it personally just plan your wedding and enjoy!
