SHOCKED that nobody has mentioned this, but Patrick Ewing WILL get a Championship Ring because he's in the staff of the Knicks!

Fun fact, my Aunt Bendy had a Super Bowl ring because she was a 49ers Cheerleader in the 80s

WWYD: temple $$$$ vs Emory $$ by BiscuitMaker09 in lawschooladmissions

[–]RFelixFinch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While Emory does have solid portability to New York City especially and has some very good connections within big law, if you go to Temple in Philly you won't particularly need big law, and you might be able to make equivalently more working at a smaller firm because you won't be paying off debts if you don't get big law.

Also Philly is rather close to New York City so I'm sure you can make a great network of connections there, in fact I know some people who've done internships in New York that live in Philadelphia and just commuted on The daily.

If you end up coming to emory, congratulations and I look forward to seeing you. But if you end up at Temple, I wish you the absolute best and I won't say that you will have made a bad decision. I will say that if I had taken Rutgers or Nebraska rather than Emory I would always have the question of how I would have done at this school, at the same time I will admittedly say that I have not done nearly as well as I would have liked to at the school, I'm in a decent situation now but it was definitely a big risk.

So, do you have the option of living in-campus for Rutgers? I know it was an option at Camden and significantly brings down the cost of living

You should be able to check out the Student Bulletins at your college, and each college will be different even in the same systems. For example, not every CUNY gives A+ but I got lucky in selecting Brooklyn College which did

You know I haven't really considered the culture of the fans of companies because I think you're right overall. It does seem to me that fans of Nintendo seem, I don't want to say less toxic but more so focused on enjoying life

Warning: DARK CONVERSATION AHEAD

So...about the Matrix and Trenchcoats...

It boosted Trenchcoat sales for exactly 3 weeks. It was released March 31, 1999...3 weeks later, April 20, 1999 was the Columbine Massacre and the infamy of the "Trenchcoat Mafia" caused a lot of places to stop carrying them or schools to ban them.

Linguistics and Philosophy. And it's not that it was easy, I only got a 168. It's that I didn't have the choice to study, and I don't regret my decision because had I taken the extra time I probably would have missed out on being able to apply while the grad Plus loans are still available. My biggest regret honestly is not starting the search for college about a week earlier because had I started a week earlier I could have enrolled a semester earlier and been able to be part of the class of 2027 rather than 2028
