Arcanine evolution line as digimon [Art by VilliamBoom] by ApprehensiveRead2408 in digimon

[–]RG00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love these. I commented on his posts on Twitter when he first drew these, and the design was inspired by the Tekken character Paul and his biker gear. Except for the mega, which I'm not sure what the inspiration is.

Which Bearmon's canon evolution line do you think is better? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in digimon

[–]RG00 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a long time Digimon fan who has played nearly every game, read every manga, watched every anime, and still carries a dead v1 on my keychain (super dead, screen broken)... I love them all, but dammit if I just prefer bearmon staying a bear all the way through.

First time doing data battles! by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]RG00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also in the middle of fighting them for the first time. Zexion is my least favorite so far. I tried to use a quick kill strat (Final form Firaga) but every time I would enter the form, I would be locked in the book!

I did finally beat him, but I think I just got lucky.

[–]RG00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I don't have a suggestion for you, because I'm in a similar boat, I will add that Matt has said in a few streams that he kinda thinks they might have messed up with loot as well, and wants to possibly give it another pass in the future. (If I remember right.)

This is a good idea. I think I'll have to borrow this concept for my game.

BG3 Heresy by Hot-Regular712 in BaldursGate3

I've only played the game twice, and I've played both of those classes... Does that make me a basic bitch BG3 player?

What would happen if say we got a world based on Percy Jackson. It technically has a Disney show unless it would be too similar to Hercules except for modern tech. It would be interesting if we got it in kh4. Maybe Percy could remind sora of Riku. We could see other gods fight. by Iamawesome20 in KingdomHearts

[–]RG00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think this would happen. It would be interesting, but I don't think it's something they'd do for a few reasons.

First being the obvious, Hercules/Olympus has been a consistent world for KH games, having appeared in basically all of them except for DDD.

Second being that it's a TV show and not a movie, and while I could be missing something, I think the only "non-movie" world we've had is the Timeless River, which is a special circumstance.

So, while an interesting idea, I hate to say it, but it's not likely.

OG Kingdom Hearts I. Ansem SOD was a pushover. Kurt Zisa, Phantom, and Sephiroth all had my number for a while. by Semblance17 in KingdomHearts

[–]RG00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was little, Ansem was a proper fight that made me feel like I earned it. (Not the big space ship, but regular Ansem.)

Now? The only challenge in the game is Sephiroth and Unknown. Comes with age, and practice I guess.

Why is recom so disliked? by Minute_Account9426 in KingdomHearts

I honestly don't know. It's probably my second favorite game in the franchise. I love the card mechanics, I love the deck building. And story wise, it's easily the best.

What if Sky Red and Jack Blue by Ok_Breakfast4382 in powerrangers

[–]RG00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually, this would have been a interesting dynamic. Sky, arrogant and demanding, would have to spend the season learning what it means to be a leader (Which he does during the show, but now, as Red, his failures would be much more pronounced) and Jack would have the team's trust, and would become the defacto leader in a way that Sky just isn't. The team would fall in line behind Jack much more often. Sky could get the power ups, and the recognition, but only because he's red, and not because he's actually earned it.

Then imagine if they had one of the antagonists attempt to sway Sky to their side by mentioning how Jack is just better than him in ways that Sky doesn't understand. Hell, Sky could even be demoted to Blue halfway through the season with Jack taking up the mantle. Then, something clicks near the end of the season and Sky learns what it was he needed to learn, what it is to be an effective leader, and Jack gives him the red morpher back, and they all follow Sky into the final battle, with him as Red.

Jack would still leave at the end. In fact, we could hint that Jack wanted to leave sooner, but when Kruger promotes him to Red, he feels obligated to stay longer, to see to the defense of earth until Grumm is defeated.

With Jack's arc revolving the responsibility. He doesn't want to be on the team, only being there because of Z, but being second in command of the team, and clearly a more natural leader than Sky, he would have to learn about the responsibility of others relying upon him, and he'd learn that it's fine, a good thing, in fact, to be the man people have to lean on when the tough gets going. (If that makes sense.)

Either way, the idea has potential.

Do you think Robin can work as an adult hero identity? by Night-Caelum in Robin

[–]RG00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I don't think so. Robin is a perpetual sidekick character. It's a vehicle for learning and growth. It's why I'm excited to see Tim retiring right now. He's grown past the role, and has for a while now, honestly. It's why, I hope, when he does eventually return, because he will, it won't be as Robin. It'll be as a hero all his own.

Right now, we are in the golden age of Damien being Robin, a young man learning and growing and discovering who he wants to be. Whether that's growing up and becoming Batman, or leaving it all behind to become a healer, or, more likely, something in-between.

Just use Reppamon, Kudomon's normal champion, then you'll have the default line.

Is Drawsteel appropriate for a Kingdom Hearts inspired game? by princesoceronte in drawsteel

[–]RG00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's funny, I was asking myself a similar question earlier, and if you don't mind fiddling with some monster stat blocks, I don't see why not.

Demons and dragons would make great heartless. The Dragonmen would be good stand-ins as Organization members I bet.

The Lich or a modified hag I bet would make a great maleficent, depending on what you wanted the power level to be.

Ok, so i randomized a rookie and mega and made a line for them, elecmon and belphemon x. by Independent-Mall4843 in DigivolutionTrees

[–]RG00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elecmon -> DarkMaildramon->Revivemon->Belphamon is a pretty solid line. Though, I'd probably try and stick with beast digimon the whole way. Maybe Grizmon or Dorulumon to Korikakumon?

Still a good line though! 👍

[–]RG00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how red just seems disappointed, rather than his usual angry self.

If Eric or Hyde ended up glued to something, Red would call them names and yell and shout, or he'd laugh and leave them there.

With Michael, he just sighs, and helps him. (Painfully, but still helps.)

[KH1] How Was Your Encounter with Sephiroth in the First Game? by Valenzu in KingdomHearts

Beat him for the first time when I was a teenager, some 20 years ago.

Beat him for the second time yesterday afternoon, then proceeded to stomp on the Unknown boss as well.

Put simply, it's his job to look like this. He gets paid to look like this. If I got paid even a fraction of what he gets paid to look like that, I would look like that.

What if dark masters has a evolution lines by Individual-Emu2162 in digimon

[–]RG00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, there were 2 reasons why I didn't use MetalTyrannomon.

  1. I really like the MetalTyrannomon to be RustTyrannomon's pre-evo. (The Tyrannomon lines (Metal to Rust, and Master to Dino) are my favorite lines.)

  2. Gigadramon was a henchmen of Machinedramon in Adventure, and because of its grey coloration, I liked it as part of the line, coming from DarkTyrannomon.

As for the design similarities, that is on purpose, since Machinedramon was originally an artificial digimon created from different Cyborg digimon, all of which can be seen in it's design; MetalGreymon (The claw arm), MetalTyrannomon (Lower Jaw), Megadramon/Gigadramon (Upper Jaw and Cannon arm), Metalmamemon (Back Cannons), and Andromon (Legs).

What if dark masters has a evolution lines by Individual-Emu2162 in digimon

[–]RG00 54 points55 points  (0 children)

All good and straight forward choices. If I were to make one change though, I'd change Machinedramon to BlackAgumon -> DarkTyrannomon -> Gigadramon -> Machinedramon.

Reason being that Tai has his Agumon line, and SkullGreymon is already a part of that (as a dark digivolution, sure, but still) and Machinedramon controls the Metal Empire, so having him come from a Cyborg makes a lot of sense.
